Something BIG is coming πŸ‘€ but first, let's have some fun!

The International Kids Play Day event at The GOOD Games is happening this Friday, June 26 from 10 AM–4 PM at the University of Guelph. Think 3v3 Soccer, Lacrosse, Wheelchair Basketball, Arctic Sports, a DJ, lunch, and SO much more.

This event is a celebration of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and the power of sport to bring communities together, honouring the vision and agency of Indigenous Peoples in Canada. Events like this reflect the spirit of collaboration between Indigenous and non-Indigenous organizations to foster meaningful change through sport, physical activity, and recreation.

In partnership with The GOOD Games and FIFA. See you June 26! πŸ—“οΈ

Today on National Indigenous Peoples Day, we celebrate the cultures, heritage, and resilience of Indigenous Peoples in Ontario and across Turtle Island, and reaffirm our commitment to creating meaningful change through sport, physical activity, recreation, and wellness.

The Spirit of Sport – Active Together is our shared vision for a decade of transformation, one where Indigenous Peoples, communities, and Nations truly flourish.

Guided by 5 strategic focus areas β€” advocacy, partnerships, capacity-building, participation, and sustainable investments β€” we're proud to work alongside Aboriginal Sport Circle and P/TASBs across the country to build stronger, more honest relationships within the sport and recreation sector.

We're pulling out all the stops for International Kids Play Day on June 26 at the University of Guelph πŸ™Œ

Enjoy sports activities, a live DJ, and lunch from 10 AM–4 PM. Arctic sports, soccer, volleyball, and more await!

Together with The GOOD Games and FIFA, we're honouring Indigenous cultures and traditions while creating space for Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities to connect through sport, play, and recreation. There are many paths forward, and they're best walked together.

🏐 This year, two All-Nations teams are heading to Aotearoa (New Zealand) for international volleyball friendlies, Māori ceremony, and cultural connection in traditional longhouses.

The All-Nations Indigenous Volleyball Showcase continues to grow every year, demonstrating the impact of sport meeting Indigenous culture on a global stage 🌏

With this year's event being overseas, we're running a fundraiser to help financially support athletes from the All-Nations team with their travels to next month's event.

Our fundraiser tee features the All-Nations logo, a combination of all Indigenous sports body logos, 24 feathers representing the 24 athletes and their nations, all united with the feather from Gord Downie's iconic purple hat πŸ’œ

Culturally grounded programs like Standing Bear are changing lives. When Indigenous youth are surrounded by their heritage, not asked to set it aside, they grow their confidence, own their story, and step into their voices as future leaders 🌱

Expanding this impact takes partnership. Together, we can bring programs like Standing Bear to more communities and more youth across Ontario 🌟

What an incredible day! On June 8, ISWO had the honour of bringing 85 Indigenous youth and community members from across southern Ontario to Team Canada's training session, the only public training session the team was having ahead of their first FIFA World Cup match tomorrow!

The energy was unmatched as our group got up close with the players, scored some autographs, and even connected with representatives from FIFA and Toronto FC πŸ™Œ We were able to treat our group to lunch from The Pond afterwards, making it a truly unforgettable experience from start to finish.

Moments like these matter. Thank you to everyone who made this day so special! ❀️
