RPA Canada was proud to speak with policymakers, industry leaders, and professionals during Advocacy Day 2026 at Queen’s Park, focusing on the important role Professional Accountants play in supporting Ontario’s small business economy.
Through a series of interviews conducted during the Advocacy Luncheon, Hon. Nina Tangri MPP (PC) and Associate Minister of Small Businesses; Terence Kernaghan, MPP (NDP) and Shadow Minister for Small Business; Prof. William X.Wei, PhD, RPA; Prof. Dr. Taslima Nasreen, PhD, RPA; Sheref Sabawy, MPP ; Bobbi Ann Brady, MPP (Independent); Aislinn Clancy, MPP (Green) & Zubair Choudhry RPA, APA , President & CEO of RPA Canada shared insights on reducing barriers for accounting professionals, supporting small businesses, reducing red tape, and strengthening the future of the accounting profession in Ontario.
Since 1978, the Society of Professional Accountants of Canada has supported practitioners who provide affordable, accessible, and reliable accounting services to small and medium-sized enterprises across the province. Today’s conversations reinforced the importance of recognizing accountants as trusted advisors, community partners, and economic enablers helping businesses grow and succeed.
