Announcing our 2026 Arts for Mental Health Award Winner, Billy Talent!

Billy Talent are recognized for their partnership and support of Make Music Matter, an organization that uses the creative process as a therapeutic tool to help empower marginalized individuals and communities.

For 15 years, Billy Talent has been working with Make Music Matter to use songwriting and recording as tools for healing and empowerment. We are honoured to recognize Billy Talent and the lasting example they continue to set for artists who use their success to uplift others. Congratulations, Billy Talent, on this well-deserved recognition.

MAC and Bell Canada will present this year’s Arts for Mental Health Award at the MACsquerade: The Artist’s Dream, proudly hosted at the Hyatt Place Toronto/Mississauga Centre & Luxe Convention Centre on November 19, 2026.

MAC enjoyed a catch-up meeting with Kelly Ralston, the new Executive Director of the Clarkson Village BIA and learned about their exciting Alice in Wonderland-themed Halloween celebration on Saturday, October 31. MAC looks forward to doing more in Clarkson next year. Kelly presented us with a money tree - so fingers crossed it delivers for our artists! Thanks, Kelly!

On October 1, Express Scripts Canada celebrated 30 years of success and growth. 👏

Last year, ESC served over 12 million Canadians with medical prescriptions often in the most remote places there are. Senior leadership from ESC have served on MAC's Board of Directors for 5 years, and we are so grateful for their leadership role in our Indigenous arts programs, wrapping art boxes with Indigenous art.

The future looks bright for this creative community partnership, highlighted by their newly completed corporate mural by Mississauga muralist Tetyana Bibik.

"You Are Sacred," a new mural unveiled in Oakville! 🎨

ErinoakKids Centre for Treatment and Development in Oakville opened its new student-run cafe featuring a beautiful new mural entitled You Are Sacred by Indigenous Mississauga-based artist, educator and social worker, Kaitlyn Wilcox, who spoke to her inspiration and intentions at the opening celebration.

It's MISAFF season! 🎬 🍿

The Mosaic International South Asian Film Festival kicked off with a vibrant Opening Night at Cineplex Mississauga, launching five days of independent cinema. MISAFF brings bold and fresh storytelling from both international and local filmmakers right to into the heart of Mississauga.

MAC is proud to support this celebration of South Asian and Canadian cinema!

MISAFF is on at Cineplex Mississauga and Living Arts Centre until October 4.
