Join us in celebrating Lynn for two years of volunteering with Food Banks Mississauga! 🥳🎉

On Fridays, Lynn volunteers with our Community Assist program, connecting neighbours in need of food support with food programs in our network across Mississauga.

Lynn has also volunteered with our Food Bank 2 Home Delivery Program as an Order Packer and a Shelf Restocker, and with our ReclaimFRESH Food Rescue program!

Through all of these roles, Lynn has consistently shown up and volunteered (over 255 hours and counting!) to ensure her neighbours in need have nutritious food. Thank you, Lynn! We appreciate you! 💕

With the municipal election on October 26 (and advance voting open now!), we get to vote for City Councillors, School Board Trustees, and the Mayor, who will represent us and act on our behalf for the next four years.

Here are Food Banks Mississauga's policy recommendations to address poverty and food insecurity in our city. Check them out and see how candidates’ election promises and platforms stack up against our recommendations. Consider these when you head to the polls – together we can work towards a Mississauga that is food secure!

Everyone has their comfort meals – the ones you keep going back to, the meals you learned to make as a child, the ones that remind you of home.

You can help your neighbours sit down to a nutritious meal that fills both their stomachs and their hearts this Thanksgiving, and beyond.

Are you looking for a way to volunteer from the comfort of your own home? If so, we have just the role for you!

As a Donor Ambassador volunteer, you’ll connect directly with donors over the phone to thank them for their valued support. If you’re an 18+, caring and committed individual with access to the internet and your own phone — you sound like you’d be a great fit for this opportunity!

Our 22nd annual Thanksgiving Food Drive was a massive success! 🍁✨ Together, we filled 6 full bins of donations!

A huge thank you to all of our incredible volunteers who came out to help. Your time, energy, and kindness made this possible.

And to our wonderful neighbours in Meadowvale Village, thank you for your generous donations and continued support. Every bag you filled will help put a meal on someone’s table this season.

This is what community is all about, neighbours showing up for neighbours. We’re so grateful to be part of a community that gives back year after year, and we can’t wait to do it all again. 🧡

Last Wednesday evening we hosted our Fall Open House! 🍁🍂

Our attendees toured our distribution centre, asked lots of insightful questions, played our ‘Best Before’ and ‘Making Choices’ activities, took pictures with Bowlina, and even bought some merch ( 👀)!

Missed the Open House? Stay tuned for future events! And if you want your faith, corporate, or community group to tour our distribution centre… send us a DM!
