This Saturday, June 20, join Ataraxis Collective and The Unspoken for a free, community-led Father's Day Pop-Up & Diaper Drive at Port Union Village Common Park in Scarborough.

Too often, fathers are valued only for what they provide financially. This event is a reminder that fathers are so much more than providersโ€”they are mentors, role models, nurturers, and an important part of their children's lives.

Bring the kids and enjoy:
๐Ÿˆ Sports and outdoor activities
๐ŸŽจ DIY Father's Day crafts and cards
๐ŸŽ Loot bags for children
๐Ÿค Connection and conversation with other fathers
๐Ÿงท Community diaper support for families who need it

This grassroots initiative is entirely community-driven and aims to create a safe, welcoming, and judgment-free space where fathers can connect, recharge, and simply be present with their children.

Support creates space for conversation.

Successful reintegration is about more than housing, employment, or education. Itโ€™s also about emotional wellbeing, resilience, mentorship, and having access to culturally grounded support.

Through LifeMap, young Black men and previously incarcerated men are connected to resources that help strengthen mental health, build confidence, and create pathways toward long-term success.

We are thankful to OLG, the Ontario Charitable Gaming Association, and Rama Gaming House Mississauga for their continued support in making this work possible.

When people are given the right support, they are empowered to build brighter futures for themselves, their families, and their communities.

Charitable Gaming. Community Good.

Something is shifting.

For a while, conversations about faith and mental health have happened in separate spaces. But what happens when those conversations come together?

We're not ready to share everything just yet.

What we can tell you is this: ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐“๐ฎ๐ซ๐ง๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ข๐ฌ ๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ข๐ง๐ .

A gathering. A conversation. A moment that has been a long time in the making.

Keep November open.

Many parents wonder whether changing the school environment can actually help a child with ADHD.

The answer is clear: Yes.

Research consistently shows that evidence-based school supports can reduce ADHD symptoms and improve academic and social outcomes.

Simple interventions such as:
โœ”๏ธ Organizational skills training
โœ”๏ธ Daily home-school communication
โœ”๏ธ Self-management strategies
โœ”๏ธ Environmental adjustments can make a meaningful difference in a child's success.

For Black children, access to appropriate supports is especially important. Behaviours that may be linked to ADHD are often misinterpreted, leading to discipline rather than understanding and accommodation.

The right classroom environment isn't a luxuryโ€”it's a foundation for learning, growth, and belonging.

Your story matters.

For many Black individuals, conversations about mental health within faith communities have been complex. While some have found understanding and support, others have experienced silence, stigma, dismissal, or feeling unseen during some of their most difficult moments.

We are creating space to listen.

If you've experienced mental health challenges and felt disappointed by how a church or faith community responded, we invite you to share your lived experience.

Your story deserves to be heard.

There is no pressure to share more than you are comfortable with. We want to hear and learn from your experience.

Have you ever stopped and asked yourself:

"Why do I keep reacting this way?"
"Why does this situation affect me so deeply?"
"What thought patterns am I repeating?"

That pause is called ๐ฆ๐ž๐ญ๐š๐œ๐จ๐ ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐งโ€”the ability to think about your own thinking.

It allows us to move from autopilot to intention. Instead of simply reacting, we begin to understand our thoughts, emotions, and behaviours more clearly.

The more aware we become of our thinking patterns, the more power we have to make choices that align with who we want to be.

Self-awareness is not about judging yourself. It's about understanding yourself.
