RCSCC ILLUSTRIOUS

RCSCC ILLUSTRIOUS The Cadet Program is open to youth aged 12-18 and strives to offer a safe, welcoming and supportive environment.

Sea Cadets are offered opportunities to develop leadership, citizenship and seamanship skills and embrace Canadian military values. The Cadet Program provides opportunities for youth age 12-18 to develop valuable skills and knowledge in leadership, citizenship and specialized skills that build confidence and support the transition through to adulthood. Sea Cadets develop seamanship skills includin

g ropework, navigation and sailing by participating in a variety of safe, engaging activities in a positive youth environment. The Cadet Program strives to offer a safe, welcoming and supportive youth program, where all feel welcomed, respected and valued able to achieve their full potential. The Cadet Program experience, training, direction, decision making and behaviours are guided by the ethics and values of the Canadian military. The Cadet Program offers activities and events that are challenging and safe. Cadets and their parents/guardians can be confident that the adults leading the program are focused on the development of youth and invested in their health and welfare. Whether cadets stay with the program for many years or a shorter time, it is hoped that their experiences were impactful, educational and are regarded and remembered as positive. Cadets are supervised, administered, and trained by Cadet Instructor Cadre officers and non-commissioned members of a sub-component of the Reserve Force of the Canadian Armed Forces.
