WE DID IT AGAIN.

Yesterday, we celebrated the closing showcase of SWAP® Seniors Jubilee 2026 with a SOLD-OUT audience.

Every seat was filled. Every story was heard. Every participant was celebrated.

Thank you to our participants, families, volunteers, partners, and community for believing that theatre is for everyone.

What a beautiful way to close another SWAP® journey.

One week to showtime.

For the past weeks, these participants have been transforming memories into stories, stories into scripts, and scripts into theatre.

We are now in the final stage of SWAP ACT IT, refining scenes, strengthening characters, and preparing to share the results of this incredible creative journey.

In just one week, three original collective plays will take the stage—created from the participants’ own experiences, imagination, courage, and creativity.

We can’t wait to share their work with our community.

Join us on June 13 for a heartfelt evening of original short theatre pieces created and inspired by the personal stories, memories, emotions, and experiences of our SWAP participants.

Through creativity, connection, laughter, vulnerability, and collective storytelling, this group has transformed their own voices into live performance. What began as conversations, improvisations, and shared experiences has now become a series of original theatrical sketches ready to meet an audience.

We invite the community to come celebrate their courage, creativity, and the power of storytelling through theatre.

SWAP is about giving shared stories a voice and a place on stage.

Through simple and accessible creative processes, participants explore storytelling, movement, writing, and scene creation in a safe and collaborative environment. The focus is not perfection, it is expression, connection, and the experience of bringing real voices into the creative process.

A heartfelt thank you to the Mississauga Arts Council for supporting this program, and to ACHEV and Mississauga Players Theatre Organization for their collaboration and continued support.

This is truly a pleasure.

We are proud to collaborate and share this special day with Canada Habla Español, celebrating the beauty of the Spanish language through the senses.

Language is more than words —
it is culture, memory, music, and connection.

We warmly invite everyone to join this celebration of Spanish Language Day
on April 21 in Toronto.

Let’s come together to feel, experience, and celebrate the richness of our language and culture.

We’ll see you there.

The images captured on Opening Night reveal more than a celebration they show the heart of a dream brought to life.

Mississauga Players Theatre is incredibly proud to have been part of this multidisciplinary art co-production, The Soul of Tango, a project where creativity, culture, and community came together to illuminate the vision of Lydia Panart.

Under the direction and thoughtful guidance of our Project Manager, Adriana Sabogal, artists, producers, and volunteers worked in harmony, creating a night filled with emotion, beauty, and artistic unity.
It was a process built with dedication, teamwork, and love for the arts.

This exhibition was born from the dream of Lydia Panart, an Argentinian visual artist who sought to share her roots, the history of tango, and her inspiration from Astor Piazzolla. Through the collaboration of this extraordinary team, her dream found form, colour, and soul.

Today we share these images to celebrate that magic — the emotion, the collaboration, and the power of coming together to create beauty.

And don’t miss your last chance to experience this stunning visual art exhibition inspired by tango.
The Soul of Tango closes on Sunday, November 23.
