If bonded labour is illegal, why does it still happen?

Bonded labour is a form of modern slavery where people are forced to work to repay a debt, often under exploitative conditions that make it nearly impossible to escape.

Across Pakistan, families working in brick kilns can become trapped in this cycle. With low wages, unfair deductions and growing debts, some families spend years working without ever gaining their freedom.

For children born into these circumstances, it can mean growing up working instead of attending school.

What an incredible weekend at ICNA Convention Canada 2026!

Al Mustafa Canada was delighted to connect with so many wonderful people in Mississauga, sharing our mission to restore sight and transform lives.

From our exciting Spin the Wheel giveaway to the chance to win an Umrah ticket, our booth was filled with memorable moments, meaningful conversations and community spirit.

Most importantly, we raised awareness and funds to help provide life-changing cataract surgeries for those living with preventable blindness.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who stopped by, took part and supported our cause. Together, we’re bringing the gift of sight to more lives.

Clear vision should never be a privilege.

In an underserved settlement near Lahore, Pakistan, Al Mustafa Welfare Trust, in collaboration with GOD Organisation, organised a free eye camp to bring essential eye care directly to families in need.

Children and adults received free eye examinations, prescription glasses and medication. Those diagnosed with cataracts will also receive sight-restoring surgery at Al Mustafa Eye Hospital.

Through our modern eye care facilities and community outreach programmes, we’re making quality eye care more accessible to those who need it most.

Because everyone deserves the chance to see a brighter future.
