Pollinating Cooksville! 🐝 🌸 Earlier this month we joined Heart Comonos and the Cooksville community to paint expressive murals!

It was so exciting to see what everyone came up with, and inspiring to see some pretty great blooms in the gardens! All 9 Panels will be installed onto the raised beds in early September.

Have extra native plants taking over your garden?

Share your surplus native plants with Blooming Boulevards! Your donations will help grow our first Fall Native Plant Sale — giving more gardens a chance to welcome native plants and support pollinators. 🐝🦋

🪴 Bring your potted, labelled plants to our Potting Party!

No plants to donate? Come volunteer anyway! Every helping hand makes a difference. 💚

Why do we repot?

To help prevent the spread of jumping worms and their eggs, donated plants will be carefully removed from their original soil and repotted in fresh potting soil.

🌱 Can’t make it on August 22?
Drop off your labelled, potted plants at 1065 Henley Road on:
Aug. 17–19 & Aug. 21 | 10 a.m.–7 p.m.

💧 You can also help by volunteering to water the plants between Aug. 19 and Sept. 19.

☔ Rain on August 22? Potting Party moves to Sunday, August 23 | 1–4 p.m.

Join Blooming Boulevards' Garden Steward, Lynda O'Reilly, as she opens her beautiful 5-year-old pollinator garden for the very first edition of our Grow & Tell Series. 🌸🐝

Gardening has been a lifelong passion for Lynda—one that's deeply rooted in family tradition. Her thriving garden is proof that with patience, care, and a little curiosity, you can create a space that supports biodiversity while becoming your own peaceful retreat.

Volunteer Call-Out – Spruce Park Community Event

We're looking for 3–5 volunteers to help support our Spruce Park community event on Wednesday, July 29.

Volunteer Time: 5:45 PM – 8:15 PM
Event Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Location:
Spruce Park
280 Angeline St.
Free parking available on site.

Volunteers will help with co-ordinating mural painting, event set-up and take-down, and taking photos throughout the evening.

The event will include mural painting, a pollinator garden tour, and snacks and refreshments for participants.

Please bring bug spray and clothes that you don't mind getting paint on.

Have you spotted a leafcutter bee in your garden this summer?

While mason bees are busy pollinating in the spring, leafcutter bees are the stars of summer, keeping our native plants blooming.

Leafcutter bees collect pollen on a dense brush of hairs beneath their abdomen. As they visit flower after flower, they scatter pollen everywhere, making them wonderfully messy and incredibly efficient pollinators!

Plant native flowers, and you'll help these amazing bees find food all season long.
