TESTIMONY OF M***I OF EGYPT AND SHAYKH AL-AZHAR WAL-ISLAM DR ALI GOMAA

We belong to Allah and unto Him do we return.

With hearts full of belief in what Allah brings to pass and His foreordained Decree we express our sorrow to the Muslim Umma and the assemblies of the murids and the lovers in all the different parts of the world at the demise of the Rabbani scholar and caller unto Allah with wisdom and love, Shaykh Hisham Kabbani al-Naqshbandi, who has passed away after a life spent in service of the faith and the call to the way of the All-True.

Shaykh Hisham was certainly an exemplary model for the hands-on practicing scholar who spares no effort in propagating love and peace and bringing hearts together. He was a very prominent figure in calling people to Allah {with wisdom and excellent admonition} (al-Nahl 16:125) and a paragon of humbleness, mercy and Godfearingness.

We ask Allah to embrace our great departed one into His vast mercy and that He reward him with the best reward for what he has offered in the service of the faith and knowledge and education, and we ask Him to inspire his family and his loved ones and his students steadfast endurance and consolation.

بقلوب مؤمنة بقضاء الله وقدره، ننعي إلى الأمة الإسلامية وجموع المريدين والمحبين في أرجاء المعمورة وفاة العالم الرباني والداعية إلى الله بالحكمة والمحبة، الشيخ هشام القباني النقشبندي، الذي وافته المنية بعد عمر قضاه في خدمة الدين والدعوة إلى طريق الحق.
لقد كان الشيخ هشام مثالاً للعالم العامل الذي لم يدخر جهداً في نشر المحبة والسلام والتقريب بين القلوب، فكان علماً بارزاً في الدعوة إلى الله بالحكمة والموعظة الحسنة، ومثالاً في التواضع والرحمة والتقوى.

نسأل الله أن يتغمد فقيدنا الكبير بواسع رحمته، وأن يجزيه خير الجزاء على ما قدمه من خدمة للدين والعلم والتربية. وأن يلهم أهله وأحباءه وتلامذته الصبر والسلوان.

Our Story

The Canadian Council of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah(CCAS) is Canada's leading amalgamation of mosques, Islamic organizations and sufi tariqats working to bring a better understanding of Islam amongst Canadians. CCAS has been in existence since 2006. It adheres to the traditional beliefs and practices of Islam based on the Holy Quran and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم); i.e. ‘Ashari-Matiuridi belief(‘aqida) and Hanafi, Shafi, Maliki and Hanbali in Fiqh. Since its inception, CCAS has hosted many public events.

CCAS represents a joint effort by a growing number of Muslim academics, professionals and leaders. Their goal is to create an enduring institution to organize the largest contingent of Muslims in Canada; i.e. Sunni Muslims, into an effective and vibrant community. The need to move Islam forward in Canada in a planned and coordinated manner is a matter of priority. This requires commitment to a long term vision. This vision includes Muslims playing a positive role in the social fabric and political life of Canada. CCAS is unique in the sense that it is the only Canadian based organization which engages with and caters for Canada’s diverse Muslim population. It is working to unite them by strengthening our institutions under a common vision.
