Last week, we also welcomed sweet Blu all the way from Manitoba. 💙

Blu’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. After being hit by a car and suffering a fractured pelvis, she spent a few weeks recovering in Manitoba before making the trip to Ontario, where she is now continuing her healing journey with us.

For now, Blu is on crate rest to give her pelvis the best chance to heal properly. As she progresses, we’ll be monitoring her closely and providing rehabilitation support if needed to help her rebuild strength and mobility in her rear end.

Blu will not be available for adoption until she has fully recovered, but we’re happy to report that she’s settling into foster care beautifully so far.

A very special thank you goes out to her foster family, who stepped up and specifically offered to take Blu before she was even officially on our radar. Our incredible foster team is the heart of what we do, and we truly couldn’t help dogs like Blu without your compassion, dedication, and support. ❤️

Last week, we welcomed Fawkes back into HHK9 care.

Fawkes was adopted from us as a puppy (many of you may remember her as Daphne, originally from Grassy Narrows) and, through no fault of her own, has found herself looking for a new family. Sometimes life circumstances change, and despite the love people have for their pets, difficult decisions have to be made.

While we know this has been heartbreaking for her previous family, we are grateful they reached out to ensure Fawkes would be cared for and given the opportunity to find the perfect next chapter.

And what a girl she is! Fawkes is truly an incredible dog, sweet, well mannered, affectionate, and an absolute joy to be around. She has settled back into foster care beautifully, but we’re giving her some time to decompress, adjust, and let her personality shine before she becomes available for adoption.

Sapphire is every bit the northern husky girl. She loves to play, proudly show off her toys, and has the most adorable husky “talking” habit. This little lady is never shy about letting you know exactly what’s on her mind!

Happy, playful, and always ready for her next adventure, Sapphire loves exploring the world around her. She’s the kind of pup who will keep you on your toes in all the best ways.

Despite her adventurous spirit, Sapphire is also an incredibly affectionate girl. When you pick her up, she tucks her head right into your neck for cuddles and comfort. She loves her food, enjoys playing with her sister, and is sure to bring plenty of laughter and love to her future family.

Sapphire will be spayed at an approved clinic when age-appropriate, and this is included in her adoption fee.

Diamond, sister to Karlee and Rosie, made the journey all the way from Attawapiskat and is now looking for a family of her very own!

This sweet girl is full of love and personality. Diamond adores tummy rubs, cuddles, and spending time with her people. She’s also playful, active, and curious, always ready to explore her surroundings or enjoy a good wrestling match with her sister before curling up for a nap.

Like many northern husky-type dogs, Diamond is intelligent, adventurous, energetic, and eager to learn. She loves having a job to do, enjoys exploring new places, and thrives when given plenty of mental and physical enrichment. Best of all, she’s highly food motivated, which can make training both fun and rewarding!

Whether she’s snuggled up beside you on the couch or investigating the world around her, Diamond is sure to bring plenty of love and laughter to her future home.

We are urgently seeking a foster home for two bonded sister cats. These sweet girls are 12 months old, spayed, fully vaccinated, and have been raised around dogs since kittenhood.

📍 Currently located in Elgin County, but transport can be arranged anywhere for the right foster home.

Welcome to the Halfway Home K9 family, Atlas, June Bug, Mishka, Stewart, and Wynter!

These adorable pups have made the journey all the way from St. Teresa Point, Manitoba, thanks to our amazing partners at Save A Dog Network Canada. ❤️

Right now, these little cuties are settling into their foster homes, getting lots of love, and completing their veterinary care while we learn more about their unique personalities before they become available for adoption.

One thing we already know? They’re absolutely precious and stealing hearts everywhere they go! 🥰
