Did you know that the Architectural Glass & Metal Contractors Association (AGMCA) is a CECCO member?
Established in 1979, AGMCA provides a unified voice for unionized glazing contractors working primarily in Ontario’s Industrial, Commercial and Institutional (ICI) construction and building sectors.

AGMCA supports its members through training, programs, and services designed to promote effective and responsible approaches to industry challenges, while supporting clients and the broader public interest.
AGMCA contractors maintain a strong commitment to health and safety, contributing to consistently low injury rates on complex and highly technical projects.

Modern architectural glass and metal systems, including today’s high-rise developments, are delivered through the ongoing relationship between AGMCA contractors and IUPAT glaziers, who bring specialized training and expertise to the sector.

Within Ontario’s unionized industry, apprentices are supported through a coordinated system involving Bargaining Agencies, unions, and Joint Apprentice Training Committees (JATCs). This structure ensures that training and skills development continue alongside active project delivery on job sites across the province.

CECCO’s role in coordinating collective bargaining across 22 Employer Bargaining Agencies supports the stability of this system, helping ensure that training pathways remain consistent and accessible across the industry.

The Construction Employers Coordinating Council of Ontario (CECCO) works to support a stable and competitive unionized ICI construction sector across the province.

At the centre of this work is a shared objective between employers and unions: keeping members working.

Through coordinated collective bargaining, the goal is to achieve balanced agreements that support ongoing work opportunities while maintaining fair wages, strong training systems, and long-term workforce stability.

A consistent and coordinated approach helps ensure the industry remains competitive and continues to provide well-paying union jobs across Ontario.

CECCO is encouraging everyone to keep their for someone they care about, even beyond Men's Health Month.

The Suspenders On campaign, led by the Canadian Men’s Health Foundation, is a visible reminder to check in, start conversations, and support the men in our lives.

The message is especially important within the skilled trades. Men account for approximately 75% of suicides in Canada, and many of those affected work in industries where long hours, physical demands, and workplace culture can make it difficult to ask for help.

Ontario’s unionized construction sector is built on strong partnerships, strong training systems, and strong communities. Looking out for one another is part of that foundation. Take the time to connect with a colleague, friend, family member, or fellow tradesperson. A simple conversation can make a difference.

It’s Public Service Week, a time to recognize the contributions of those who support public infrastructure and services across the province.

Ontario’s unionized ICI construction sector plays a key role in delivering the infrastructure that supports communities, including institutional and public-use facilities. Through coordinated planning, training, and collective agreements, the industry supports the delivery of projects that are essential to public services.

Every day in Ontario, employers and workers in the ICI sector are working to build the province. Workers range from mechanical to electrical, crane operators to drywallers to plumbers, working on projects that include hospitals, schools, government and industrial buildings, and other key pieces of infrastructure. The success of the sector is directly related to the strong partnerships between contractors, workers and unions.

A stable and skilled workforce remains critical to meeting the ongoing infrastructure needs of Ontario.

We’re pleased to share that CECCO is moving forward with the development of a Bargaining Analysis Tool, designed to support our members with enhanced insights, trends, and data-driven decision making in collective bargaining.
