521 Aurora had a Formal Mess Dinner recently. It was held on March 07, 2026 at the Matsqui Community Hall. It was a wonderful evening that brought everyone together for some good food, good comradery, and a bit of fun! The meal consisted of Corn Chowder, Caesar Salad, Roast Beef, and Chocolate Parfait for dessert. Our Guest of Honour was Lieutenant Colonel (Ret'd) Dan Dempsey. LCol (Ret'd) Dempsey is an author of a book called "A Tradition of Excellence". This book is 2" thick and weighs 8 pounds! LCol (Ret'd) Dempsey brought one of his books to be raffled off to one of the cadets. Congratulations to FCpl Tillack on winning the book. He did a personalized autograph in the book for her. Other guests included Lt(N) Kevin Deck and Ms. Crystal Chambers. This night could not have happened without the huge support from our Squadron Sponsoring Committee and the Parent Volunteers! Many thanks for a job well done! Archie Stewart played the bagpipes for us as our piper for the evening. A shout out to Jason Warner (aka. Silent DJ / Matsqui Community Hall) for making our experience incredible. Bravo Zulu!

521 Aurora sent 5 cadets to the Lower Mainland Marksmanship competition in Abbotsford on Saturday, Feb 21 2026.

All had a good time and they received a pin to wear on their uniform showing they competed in the Zone competition.

The team consisted of WO2 Rego, FSgt Chambers-Morrison, Sgt Aurellano, K, Sgt Tillack, and FCpl Aurellan, L. Missing was WO1 Dalzell.

On our parade night on Thursday, Jan 29, 2026, WO2 Billy Dalzell became the Chief Warrant Officer of 521 with a promotion to WO1! As well, Cpl Trina Ermine received their promotion to FCpl and Cdt Talon Hill became LAC Hill with their promotion. Congratulations!

Along with the promotions, WO1 Dalzell got an extra bonus as 521 Aurora RCACS did a special presentation of a canvas print of his solo glider flight from his Glider Pilot Scholarship in 2025. The presentation was done by the artist, Robert St George.

Robert, who now has his business doing decals and prints, is a retired Canadian Armed Forces member that served as a navigator on Auroras. You can find Rob's work at YoDecal.com

On Thursday, Nov 27 2025, 521 RCACS conducted a CO's Parade. We had a few promotions and medal presentations done by the CO of 521 Aurora, Capt Mercer and our Air Cadet League Rep from the British Columbia Provincial Committee, Mr. Darren Wennerstrom.

Congratulations to Cadet Rathore on receiving his Corporal rank.
Cadets Delaney and Ingeberg both received their Flight Corporal rank. Nicely done.

After 4 years of dedicated service, a cadet receives their Air Cadet League (ACL) Service Medal. For every additional year of service, a bar and rosette is added. Congratulation go out to Flight Sergeant Chew and Hiebert on getting their service medal. Additional congratulations go out to Warrent Officer 2nd Class Dalzell and Rego on getting their 5 year ribbon / rosette and Flight Sergeant Gachugu on receiving his 6 year ribbon / rosette. Nicely done everyone!

521 Aurora RCACS participated in the Remembrance Day ceremony at the Branch 57 Legion in Mission, on November 11, 2025. The fallen and departed smiled down upon the ceremony with sunny skies. A handful of Cadets also attended services at the Chartwell Cedarbrooke and Carrington House Retirement Residences after the main ceremony for those Seniors that could not come to main ceremony. A couple of 521 Cadets had the privilege of firing a cannon belonging to the Seymour Artillery Company in Port Moody for their Remembrance Day ceremony. Bravo Zulu everyone. Lest We Forget...

521 Aurora RCACS got the chance to do some Power Fam Flying this Saturday, Nov 8 2025, at Pitt Meadows, BC. The weather co-operated so that flying was enjoyable and the views were good. The flights left from Pitt Meadows Airport and flew around Stanley Park and downtown Vancouver before returning back to Pitt Meadows. A good time was had by all.
