Cat Therapy and Rescue Society

Cat Therapy and Rescue Society A registered charity, specializing in special needs/surrendered/abandoned cats at risk of euthanasia. We are located in the greater Vancouver area.

Cat Therapy and Rescue Society is a registered charity with Canada Revenue Agency. The rescue takes in cats that are turned away from other shelters due to a lack of space or to be euthanized, we work closely with other rescues and also take in abandoned cats off the streets. Our goal is to help save lives and put them in forever loving homes and to fix as many cats as we can to prevent the unnece

ssary overpopulation. All cats being adopted out are fixed and vetted beforehand or on an agreement when they are of age.

We were in desperate need of cat food and reached out for support and the community answered! 🎉🥳👏🙌

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone that has donated for us to be able to get cat food (primarily kitten food) which we were out of for the nearly 300 animals in our care.

We have made an order which has been delivered today of over 30 cases of cat food! While we will go through this very quick we are pleased to announce that we still have enough money left over to order another pallet and a half once we go through this ❤️

Please note donations are still greatly appreciated just this week we had to pay invoices with three of the clinics we work with totaling $16,789.77 ☹️

Just this week we have been able to send 4 pallets of donated dog food and supplies from our valued partners Bosley's by Pet Valu and PetSmart to Kitimat Humane Society

While we do also help dogs we get more dog supplies than we need and want to be sure we can share with those in need!

We are always in need of cat food and supplies which we never get enough of for anyone considering donating to us 🙂

We have nearly 300 cats in our care most of them being kittens too young to adopt out and we have completely run out of a good quality kitten food for them😿

We have the opportunity to buy cases of first mate at wholesale cost (under $3 a 12.2oz can) which is limited ingredient and reasonably priced option to keep the kittens, happy and healthy until they are big enough for adoption.

Our adoption fees, barely cover the basic care that the kittens need before becoming ready for adoption and added cost like food add up, especially at the busiest time of year.

Please consider making a tax deductible donation to help keep Rescue kitties happy and fed ❤️

Can you help Ocoa?

Ocoa is a very sweet boy that was listed to be euthanized at another shelter due to being FIV, black and having a large neck wound.

He has had two surgeries with us to fix the necrotic skin on his neck and had to be hospitalized a couple days from a very high fever due to sepsis.

He is now on the road to recovery, but needs a dental cleaning still.

His surgeries have been quite expensive and his adoption fee won’t come close to covering everything he has needed. Please show cats like Ocoa they are also worth the extra care they need ❤️

🆘 WE NEED FOSTERS 🆘

Its that time of year that rescues are at their most desperate need for fosters to save lives…kitten season 😭

At this time of year, there is a huge surge of cats coming into shelters, many including young kittens that don’t do well in a shelter environment or many shelters don’t even have the capacity to house them. Because of this many shelters with a lack of resources have to resort to euthanasia of cats and kittens. 😿

We at CTRS always do our best to lend a helping hand to shelters that are in these types of situations to prevent needless euthanasia

We don’t have a Shelter we are Foster base and we rely on fosters to keep the cats safely housed until they’re ready to be adopted or moved to one of our partnered stores adoption center.

Here are some of the faces of the cats we are trying to save.

If you have ever wanted to Foster now is the time! 👏

-Please note Foster do not get to choose the exact kittens we pair you with the best fit, and your ability.
- Foster must be able to get to our Vet in Langley or potentially at our Vet in Burnaby or Abbotsford
-must Foster a minimum of three kittens and fosters must be able to commit until the kittens are about 12 weeks of age
- Foster must be willing to give medication and do minor surgery recovery such as spay neuter which we do before they are adopted at about 12 weeks of age
- must have a separate space from current pets. This can be something like a bathroom or a playpen
- CTRS provides all medical care and supplies you need as well as ongoing support.
-we have supply locations throughout the lower mainland.
