The Mi’gmaq Justice Initiative supports Indigenous people in New Brunswick as they navigate the legal system, offering Gladue reports and one-on-one court guidance through culturally grounded approaches. We provide culturally grounded services that focus on restorative approaches and uphold the rights and dignity of Mi’gmaq people. What We Do:
✅ Gladue Reports – Sentencing reports that detail the
impacts of colonialism, racism, and systemic injustice, offering judges restorative alternatives that reflect individual life circumstances.
✅ Indigenous Court Workers (ICWs) – Offering one-on-one support through court processes, legal rights education, and connections to services, all delivered with cultural awareness and empathy. Where We Work:
📍 Serving communities across New Brunswick including Moncton, Miramichi, Elsipogtog, Bathurst, Campbellton, and Saint John (as well as Charlotte, Kings, and St. John Counties in partnership with WTCI). Connect With Us:
