It’s been a while since we posted, but we have been working behind the scenes to get the Liverpool location cleaned up. We are considering a shift with Queens table and want to see what interest there is. We are looking at not only growing a small amount of greens but taking the vision in a slightly different direction…..one that uses the kitchen we have and our desire to really help others.
We are considering creating ready to heat healthy affordable meals. Meals that deliver flavour and nutritional benefits using fresh local ingredients. These would be sized for singles, and small families.
And we are working with a contractor to potentially design a space where we could open up a few times a week and create a place where people can come and enjoy a free or by donation lunch or supper. We would want to work along side the other groups that offer free community lunches as we do see great need for both areas of this type of food access and would just want to build on whats already available.

We want to feed people. So do you see interest or need for a place where fresh greens can be bought along side of soups, stews, entrees and another place for community to gather for meals. Let me know as we still work through The Queens Table and its purpose in the community. We want to build something meaningful. That has been the goal all along.

We’re aware of some comments circulating online that misrepresent what we were trying to build and go as far as labeling us in ways that are simply untrue. We take that seriously.

We did not scam, mislead, or act in bad faith. We set out to build something with the intention of serving the community, and as demand grew and plans evolved quickly over a short period of time, we had to make decisions based on real capacity and sustainability. Those decisions may not have met every expectation, and we acknowledge that—but they were made responsibly and with good intent.

We’re proud of what was being created, we stand by how we handled challenges, and we remain committed to operating with integrity.

What we’re working to build is something real—rooted in community, supporting local producers, and designed to be sustainable over the long term.

There were 11 customers who prepaid for produce boxes. It’s true that we won’t be able to fulfill those orders as originally planned, and we are actively working to resolve this directly with each of those customers. Those customers will be taken care of.

In hindsight, we moved too early on offering those boxes. At the time, we believed we had a workable plan to support it. When that changed, we stopped all preorders and adjusted the business model accordingly.

We understand not everyone will see things the same way, and that’s okay. We’re focused on continuing to build in a way that reflects our values and speaks for itself over time.

As we continue to build this project, we’ll do so in a way that is measured, sustainable, and aligned with the values we set out with from the beginning—to create ways to make food more accessible in our area.

What started as an idea around growing local greens and garden produce to share with our neighbours in an unused building next to our home began as a very simple effort through Abundance and rapidly evolved into Milton Farmacy and later Queens Table. We felt there was a clear need for this and it made sense to explore it, and we did.

In a very short period of time, demand quickly grew and the scope expanded well beyond what was originally intended. While the foundation of the work came from solid food and business experience, and a desire to build community, it grew into something more complex, demanding, and costly than we want to maintain alongside other priorities in our lives.

A lot of planning and energy went into this, and at times it became very consuming. We were excited and fuelled by the support we received and the conversations around food, and we cared deeply about making it work. We did nothing else for the past few weeks. Demand quickly grew beyond what we had the capacity or desire to sustainably manage, and the expectations that came with that growth added to the pressure of trying to get everything right early on.

The response made it clear there is real potential here. At this time, we’ve chosen not to pursue it further in that form or at that level.

After a lot of reflection, we have decided to step back from operating this as a structured business. We know many will find this disappointing, and we understand that.

Our focus moving forward is shifting toward other career opportunities and simplifying how we spend our time and energy.

Going forward, Abundance will continue in a very small, informal way. We’ll use the Liverpool space to grow greens and herbs and share surplus as renovations are completed and time allows. As renovations progress, we may eventually scale production. If you’d like to stay connected, you can send us your email and we’ll reach out if and when we have produce available. This page will function as a simple weekly availability update rather than a forum or brand platform.

Queens Table will be placed on pause for the time being. We may revisit it in the future, but there is no commitment at this time.

We are grateful for the support, encouragement, and interest along the way, and for the many conversations and opportunities this created.

Thank you to everyone who was part of the journey in any form.
