May 17 is IDAHOBIT—International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia

This year’s theme is “At the heart of democracy,” so let's take the time to recognize how homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia have been embedded in the democratic institutions that organize our society. Despite legal protections, the fact that discrimination still persists against gender and sexual minorities in Canada should serve as a reminder that democracy does not serve everyone equally.

2SLGBTQIA+ equality, dignity, and participation are essential for healthy, inclusive and just democratic societies. This is especially important today, when anti-rights narratives are growing worldwide.

March 31st is TDOV—Trans Day of Visibility Marking

TDOV is important as we are holding space to honour the lives, achievements, and resilience of trans people all across the globe. It is also a chance for us to reaffirm our solidarity and commitment to supporting trans communities and individuals who continue to face injustice, oppression, and discrimination.
