March 31st is TDOV—Trans Day of Visibility Marking

TDOV is important as we are holding space to honour the lives, achievements, and resilience of trans people all across the globe. It is also a chance for us to reaffirm our solidarity and commitment to supporting trans communities and individuals who continue to face injustice, oppression, and discrimination.

To all our trans community members—we love you and will continue to fight and advocate for trans rights, every day 🩵🩷🤍

Our next meeting of TransParenting is this Monday, March 10th from 6:30 to 8:30pm at Milton Public Library - Main Branch.

We offer a safe space where parents and caregivers of gender-diverse kids (all ages) can come together to ask questions and support each other. Having a gender-diverse child is a unique experience, so this is a judgment-free place where you can share your thoughts, feelings, and worries.

pflag Canada’s statement regarding the anti-trans policy put forth by the Trump administration.

pflag Canada’s statement regarding the anti-trans policy put forth by the Trump administration.

President Trump’s inaugural address declared that the official policy of his administration and that of the United States of America would be to recognize “two genders, male and female”.

This policy stance is not only incorrect and misaligned with medical, social, and legislated evidence globally, it is a direct threat to our q***r and trans neighbours. We at pflag Canada recognize that many of the policy decisions, rhetoric, discrimination, and harms that effect 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and communities will impact those beyond the American borders. Our countries are very different, but we recognize the fear in our communities and our families in this time of rising anti-2SLGBTQIA+ and anti-trans hate. We stand firmly in our ongoing commitment to supporting, educating, and advocating for 2SLGBTQIA+ people and those who love them.

Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR)
is a day of mourning and reflection as we hold space for all of those that we have lost to anti-trans violence.

It is also a chance for us to reflect on the widespread scaling back of trans rights we are witnessing and reaffirm our commitment to advocacy and solidarity.

Let us collectively honour all those that we have lost while affirming the love and acceptance that all trans and gender diverse individuals rightfully deserve.
