Milton Comm Association is a group of volunteers based in Milton, N.S. We hold several fund raising functions throughout the year including a weekly BINGO, Dances, Milton Days, and Canada Day events to name a few. These event help raise money to maintain the operation of the Milton Memorial Hall, Basketball and Tennis Courts. The hall is available for rental for functions such as wedding reception

s, dances, concerts, meetings, sporting events.

INFORMATION FOR RENTERS AND USERS. HOUSE RULES FOR EVENTS AT OUR FACILITY:

Main Hall: $100 / day, $60 / half day

Hall Occupancy Load: 225 Persons maximum including any hall staff.

Kitchen: $50 per function, refrigerated storage available. Propane stove for MCA use only.

Bar Fees: (Current reservations at old rate will be honored)
$100 Fee for private events up to 220 persons. Smaller groups of less than 100 persons may qualify for a reduced rate.
Bar hours are 8:00 pm to 12:45 am. Last call at approx 12:30 am. Additional bar hours prior to 8:00 pm are charged an additional $20 per hour. (Contact us for a quote customized to your event needs)

Catering Service is available, contact us for quotes for your event. Our catering staff have current food safety training and our facilities are subject to inspections by NS dept of environment.

Any person or group renting the hall wishing to provide food "not" prepared or served by the Milton Community Association must sign a Waiver of Food Liability releasing the Milton Community Association from liabilities arising from said food.

DAMAGE & COMPLIANCE DEPOSITS: A damage deposit of $100.00 and a compliance deposit of $50.00 are required for ALL rentals. The deposits will be returned upon inspection of the facilities following the function.

Janitorial services are offered for a nominal fee after your event if you wish for us to clean the hall after your event.. You are always responsible to remove any items brought in to the hall such as decorations, food, and food waste. Garbage cans and compost bins are available for use. You are also responsible to wash any dishes or items used in the kitchen and put them in their proper storage locations.

A Rental Agreement, Waiver of food Liability, and Bar Services Agreement (if applicable) must be agreed to and signed before keys are handed over to the renter.

Our facility is air conditioned

Milton Hall is a shared facility with full time tenants occupying the basement level who require access to that level at all times. Do not block any marked doors.

Our facility is monitored by a video recording surveillance system. This system is recording various public areas of our premises inside and out 24/7. This system is for crime prevention and security purposes. All footage recorded is confidential and property of the Milton Community Association. Footage will be made available to law enforcement agencies (RCMP, Alcohol and Gaming) upon request.

Smoking is not allowed inside the Milton Memorial Hall. Smoking is permitted outside except within 15 feet of entrances and air intakes. Smoking includes but not limited to to***co and cannabis including electronic smoking items (va**ng).

BAR RULES AND REGULATIONS

The Milton Community Association Bar Committee is in charge of all alcohol service. If you wish to have alcohol at your function, please confirm at time of booking. The Milton Community Association holds a NS Special Premises Liquor License. All liquor sales and entertainment must end no later than 1:00 am on the evening of your event. The hall must be vacated 30 minutes after bar closes. You are permitted back into the hall the next morning after 8:00 am for cleanup if not completed before the cutoff time.

PERSONS UNDER 19 YEARS OF AGE MUST NOT POSSESS OR CONSUME ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OR ATTEND AGE-RESTRICTED EVENTS. ALL PERSONS WHO WISH TO CONSUME ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OR ATTEND AGE-RESTRICTED EVENTS SHOULD BE PREPARED TO PRODUCE A VALID AND CURRENT GOVERNMENT ISSUED PHOTO IDENTIFICATION CARD. MCA BAR AND SECURITY STAFF ARE ABSOLUTELY JUSTIFIED IN ASKING FOR IDENTIFICATION AT ANY TIME AND AT ANY EVENT WHERE ALCOHOL IS AVAILABLE AND AGE IS QUESTIONABLE.

*** AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT!!! HAVING THE PROPER IDENTIFICATION WITH YOU IS "YOUR" RESPONSIBILITY!!!! DO NOT ASSUME YOU WON'T BE ASKED FOR IDENTIFICATION; ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE YOUNG IN APPEARANCE.

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE PROHIBITED ON OR ABOUT OUR PREMISES AT ALL TIMES EXCEPT WHEN THEY ARE PURCHASED FROM OUR BAR UNDER OUR LICENSE.

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES MUST ONLY BE CONSUMED INSIDE THE HALL AUDITORIUM. ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE NOT PERMITTED ON ANY OTHER PART OF MILTON HALL PREMISES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE KITCHEN, WASHROOMS, BASEMENT, OR ANY OUTDOOR AREA OF THE MILTON MEMORIAL HALL. ANY PERSON FOUND TO BE CONSUMING ALCOHOL IN LOCATIONS NOT APPROVED BY OUR LICENSE OR NOT PURCHASED AT OUR BAR WILL BE GIVEN ONE WARNING TO DUMP OUT OR SECURE THEIR ALCOHOL IN A SAFE PLACE. A SECOND WARNING TO THAT INDIVIDUAL WILL RESULT IN ASKING THEM TO LEAVE THE HALL PROPERTY.


OUR BAR STAFF IS "SERVE-RIGHT" TRAINED IN RESPONSIBLE BEVERAGE SERVICE. ALL DECISIONS REGARDING ALCOHOL SERVICE ARE MADE AT THE DISCRETION OF OUR BAR MANAGER AND STAFF.

BY LICENSING REGULATIONS WE MUST DISCONTINUE SERVICE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES TO ANYONE BEGINNING TO SHOW SIGNS OF INTOXICATION. WE WILL BE HAPPY TO CONTINUE SERVICE OF NON-ALCOHOLIC DRINKS TO THAT INDIVIDUAL.

BY LICENSING REGULATIONS PERSONS APPARENTLY DRUNK ARE NOT ALLOWED ON OR ABOUT MILTON MEMORIAL HALL PREMISES. ANY PERSONS FOUND TO BE DRUNK OR CAUSING A DISTURBANCE WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE PREMISES.

MILTON COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CANCEL THE REMAINDER OF ANY EVENT, HAVE PERSONS REMOVED, OR CALL IN THE RCMP IF THESE REGULATIONS ARE NOT FOLLOWED OR A NEGATIVE SITUATION DEVELOPS OR ESCALATES WITH AN INDIVIDUAL OR EVENT.

MILTON COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION
BINGO HOUSE RULES

1. Bingo held on Mondays. Doors open at 5:30pm. Card sales will start at 6:00pm. Play at 7:00pm.

2. There will be NO BINGO on any major holiday falling on a Monday.

3. No smoking is permitted within the hall. Smoking is allowed outdoors as per smoking regulations. Alcohol beverages are prohibited.

4. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

5. We reserve the right to refuse any individual from entering our premises and playing bingo.

6. Every player, at minimum, must purchase a regular game book. All game books can be marked by dobber, pen or by any other means that the player chooses. All card sales are final, no refunds on unused cards.

7. Prior to the start of a Bingo, the caller shall set up the number display board and shall ensure all bingo balls and equipment is in good condition.

8. The bingo balls may be checked by a player before the Bingo begins or at any time during game play.

9. The Bingo caller shall display to the players each ball as it is generated at random by the bingo machine. The bingo flashboard is for reference only. The number displayed on the monitors and announced by the caller shall be considered official in all matters and disputes, not what is displayed on the bingo flashboard. Player is responsible to dab correct called numbers.

10. Total prizes SHALL NOT exceed $15,000.00 for any bingo.

11. Prizes may be paid by cash or by cheque . The minimum payout for each game is set at $50.00.

12. The LOONIE number is the FIFTH ball drawn before the start of the Odds/Evens game. $1 per player is collected at time of card sales and books are stamped. The LOONIE is only eligible to be won on a Regular (2 Lines or One line and four corners) Bingo game. The LOONIE can only be claimed if a regular bingo is won on that number.

13. Special ½ Take Games, Growing Pots, and Jackpot Game
-Sputnik: Pattern: Inside Square + 4 Corners. Full take of game sales if won in 24 calls, calls increment by 1 call weekly until full amount is won then resetting back to 24 calls. ½ take of sales after announced number of calls.
-Odds/Evens: Full Card Game, A random number drawn at approx 6:30pm. The number drawn will determine which numbers are wild, odds or evens. Players will have a few moments to mark the wild numbers. These numbers will be recorded on the flash board.
Prize is ½ Take of game sales.
-Lucky 7: Any 1 Line, $175 if won in 7 calls, ½ take after 7 calls. Initial prize increments $25 weekly until won then resets back to $175.
-BNO: all B’s N’s and O’s, ½ take of game sales
-Letter X: 2 diagonal lines forming letter “X”, ½ take of game sales.
-Jackpot: Full card game. Prize is $500 in 54 calls or less, $300 to go after.

14. All prizes being offered other than special games shall be announced to the players prior to the start of each game. For special games shall be announced to the players prior to the termination of each game. The prize paid for multiple winners on ½ take games is 50% of that night’s take for that game, divided by the number of winners.

15. BALLS Break Open Game:
- Balls games will be played in conjunction with the first “Regular” bingos.
- When players stamp all 3 balls on their card they must call “BALLS” to get the callers attention.
- Card will be verified by color and game serial number and compared with master sheets provided to caller. Called balls will be verified.
- Should a circumstance arise where a player with a Balls card does not announce that they are the winner until after a subsequent ball is drawn the player will still be eligible for an equal portion of the prize (Full amount if no other winners exist). Once game is declared closed, no other winners will
be recognized for that game.

16. It is the player’s responsibility to call “BINGO” and get the callers attention. The caller will announce “GAME CLOSED" after 2 calls for more winners. No additional winning cards will be recognized under any circumstances for that game once the game is closed.

17. When playing the Jackpot game and a player calls Bingo, the card is checked, and if it is NOT a good bingo, the caller will announce NO BINGO. You have Five (5) minutes to return to your seats and we will continue, Four (4) minutes; Three (3) minutes; Two (2) minutes; One (1) minute, we will now continue to play.

18. All winning cards will be verified by the card verification number printed on the game card through an electronic verification system, according to the N.S. Gaming Commission rules and not from flashboard.

19. In the event that a wrong bingo is called, the caller will announce no good bingo and restart calling after one minute.

20. In the event of the need to cancel a bingo, the cancellation shall be called in to CKBW and announced on our FACEBOOK page.

21. Any volunteer of the Milton Community Association can play bingo, except for the caller or card checker.

22. The Milton Community Association reserves the right to review these rules at any time and make changes.

23. Decisions of the Milton Community Association Bingo Committee are based on the N.S. Provincial Gaming Regulations.


MILTON COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION
HOUSE RULES FOR 50/50 DRAWS

Prices for 50/50 Tickets:
$1 - 3 tickets
$2 - 7 tickets
$3 - 11 tickets
$4 - 15 tickets
$5 - 20 tickets

1. Serialized roll tickets will be used in all 50/50 draws.

2. Anybody in attendance is eligible to play with the exception of the ticket seller and person designated to draw the ticket.

3. There will be a single winner of 50% of the total ticket sales for that draw.

4. In the case of a donated merchandise prize, the buyer must be made aware that merchandise and not cash is the prize.

5. The owner of the winning ticket must be present at the time of the draw in order to be eligible to receive prize. In the case of an event where the draw happens when players are not in attendance, their name and contact info will be recorded with the ticket numbers purchased.

6. Winning number will be called 3 times in a 15 minute period if not claimed immediately. (for events where players present during draw)

7. If prize is not claimed after the 15 minute period, a new number will be drawn, the previous winner will not be recognized. This process will be repeated until a winner is declared. (for events where players present during draw)
