In early 2016 three dynamic women from Milton decided to make an impact in their community. Dr. Heather Jones, Liane LaBarbera and Joy Paterson all individually learned about the unique alliance “100 Women Who Care” and immediately felt motivated to create a local chapter. Together the three women have launche

d 100 Women Who Care Milton and are excited to link arms with other local women and give back to the community they all love. We meet. We connect. We vote. We donate. This is a grassroots mobilization of fundraising for community-focused impact. We are not a registered charity, non-profit organization or club. We are simply volunteer facilitators who provide a forum for local women to connect, and support local charities in a dynamic way.

100 Women Who Care Milton — proving once again what happens when local women come together with purpose and heart.

Together, we were able to presen an incredible $12,000 donation to Community Living North Halton, helping support meaningful programs, services, and opportunities within our community.

This is the power of collective giving. Small individual contributions creating a massive local impact.

Congratulations to Community Living North Halton, and a huge thank you to every woman who continues to show up, give back, and make Milton stronger. 💜

It is with very heavy hearts that we share the loss of Stephenie, who was part of our 100 Women Who Care Milton community.

Today, we want to take a moment to remember Stephenie and share, in her own words, her Member Spotlight.

Stephenie joined us at our summer meetings at Springridge each year, always bringing her warmth and positive energy. She was one of the very first to answer our Member Spotlight questions, so generously sharing a piece of herself with all of us.

We will miss your smile, your kindness, and the light you brought into our community.

Stephenie’s MEMBER SPOTLIGHT💛

💼 THE WORK SIDE:

I am retired but I volunteer for Navy League of Ontario as an instructor. I run the cadet program for 9-12 year olds out of Acton, Ontario. I have been volunteering for 13 years with the program. Our goal is to help children become good citizens, be able to self-advocate, learn leadership and self-esteem.

❤️ THE HEART (AND MY PROUDEST ACCOMPLISHMENT)

Working with 9-12 year olds and watching them grow. Problem solving, organizing, working with children.

🌎 THE HUMAN SIDE

I’m very supportive of everyone. Positivity is my superpower. I don’t get out for coffee very often, like anywhere I can sit and chat. I read everyday, 1-2 books a week. I make cards and that’s my favourite hobby right now.

💜 WHY 100+ WOMEN WHO CARE MILTON?

I like helping charities. I am unable to attend outside of the summer because my cadet group meets Wednesday, but I like doing good. This is an easy way to learn about different charities and donate.

I love them all. All the charities that have presented have given me perspective on where help is needed in the community and how many organizations need funding.
Many of the charities I’ve never heard of.

We will miss you Stephenie💜
