What a stage. What an audience. What an incredible celebration of movement, music and culture!

The Culture Days stage came alive with performances that took us across cultures and styles — from the energy of the SAMM/South Asian Cultural Hour, to Zumba Around the World with Terry, the wonderful dancers from the Finnegan School of Irish Dance, the colour and artistry of Rhythms of China, and Bollywood Beats with Vandana.

Each performance brought something completely different to the stage, and that is exactly what makes Culture Days so much fun — one space, so many stories, traditions and ways of expressing ourselves through the arts.

A huge thank you to every performer who shared their talent with our community and to everyone in the audience who clapped, danced, participated and encouraged them along the way.

And a special thank you to Leah Kirin for beautifully capturing these moments for us. Leah Kirin

More Culture Days memories still to come!

Creativity was everywhere at Culture Days!

Throughout the day, people of all ages had the opportunity to experiment, make something of their own and enjoy the simple pleasure of creating together.

Here are a few moments filled with colour, imagination and creative expression from our September 19 celebration at FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton.

WHAT A DAY, MILTON!

Yesterday, the FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton came alive with creativity, culture, music, movement, stories and so many opportunities to simply try something new.

From South Asian performances to Irish and Chinese dance… from storytelling and cultural traditions to hands-on art, henna, face painting and activities happening throughout the building — Culture Days reminded us just how many different ways there are to experience arts and culture.

And these photos are only a tiny glimpse of everything that happened.

Thank you to every artist, facilitator, performer, cultural organization, volunteer, family and community member who walked through our doors and became part of the day.

And we're not finished yet!

Culture Days continues TODAY at Sherwood Community Centre & Library from 12–4 PM, followed by PorchFest at 4 PM.

More music. More local talent. More community.

See you at Sherwood!
