We’ve launched a Huronia Land Conservancy iNaturalist Project, and we need YOUR help to document the biodiversity of our area. Whether you’re hiking at the Simcoe County Forest or just exploring your own backyard, every observation helps us understand and protect our local ecosystems.

During a recent frog survey, HLC Director Mark heard Spring Peepers calling out in full chorus at the Hogg Creek Wetland Nature Reserve!

Spring Peepers rely on healthy wetlands like this one for breeding each spring.

Big news from Huronia Land Conservancy! 🎉

We’ve secured and permanently protected the Thomson Woodland, a mature forest and bluff property just west of Awenda Provincial Park. This ecologically rich landscape—part of the stunning Nipissing Ridge—supports a diversity of species and strengthens habitat connectivity along southern Georgian Bay.

This milestone is a major step in expanding land protection across Huronia. We’re now raising funds to support long‑term stewardship and future conservation projects. Join us in protecting these vital natural areas: http://huronialandconservancy.ca/donate.html

Like so much of nature this spring, we’re back after some time off from this account. 🌱

Huronia Land Conservancy’s page is re-emerging, and we’re excited to reconnect with you!
