We're excited to share that The Guesthouse Shelter has received a 2026 Neighborhood Grant from The Starbucks Foundation! Thank you to the local Starbucks partners who nominated us and recognized the
work we're doing in North Simcoe. We're proud to be one of 400+ community organizations across Canada receiving a 2026 Neighborhood Grant from The Starbucks Foundation.

This grant was made possible through a nomination from a local Starbucks partner who recognized our organization's impact in the community. The Neighborhood Grants program empowers Starbucks partners to nominate local charities making a meaningful difference where they live and work. Since launching in Canada in 2019, The Starbucks Foundation has awarded more than $3.5 million
through more than 1,500 Neighbourhood Grants to community organizations across the country.

This funding will help us continue to provide shelter and community meals to our guests and other members in our neighborhoods experiencing food insecurity, leaving no one left behind.

We're looking for teams of 5–6 people to join us on August 14, from 6:00–8:00 PM for an evening filled with laughs, friendly competition, and community impact!

For just $50 per person, you'll be helping provide essential support, resources, and hope to individuals experiencing homelessness in our shelter and throughout our community. Every dollar raised goes directly toward changing lives.

📖 Introducing Our New Educational Brochure!

Homelessness is changing, and so are the stories behind the people we serve.

At The Guesthouse Shelter, we wanted to create a resource that helps our community better understand who we are, what we do, and the realities of homelessness in North Simcoe. Our new brochure highlights our mission, the services we provide, the changing demographics of those experiencing homelessness, and how every donation helps make a difference.

It also challenges the stigma surrounding homelessness by reminding us that our guests are more than the circumstances they face. Many are seniors waiting for long-term care, individuals working multiple jobs but struggling with the rising cost of housing and food, or people who have experienced unexpected life events.

We hope this brochure inspires greater understanding, compassion, and community support. Together, we can replace stigma with empathy and ensure that everyone has access to safety, dignity, and hope.

🌭🍔 No one should have to wonder where their next meal is coming from.

If you or someone you know could use a hot meal, please join us on Monday, July 13, from 5:00–7:00 PM for a Community Barbecue Dinner hosted by The Guesthouse Shelter.

Thanks to the generosity of St. Paul's congregation, we'll be gathering on their lawn, and our amazing friends at Raytheon ELCAN will be serving up fresh hamburgers and hot dogs for everyone to enjoy.

💙 Everyone deserves good food, kindness, and community.

Join us today from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM for a delicious community meal featuring subs and pasta salad!

This meal is intended for members of our community who may be experiencing food insecurity or who do not have regular access to nutritious meals. Join us for a warm meal in a welcoming environment, or if you're unable to stay, take-out meals will also be available during the same hours.
