Arthur Kidston Memorial Camp

Kidston has been building meaningful outdoor experiences for children/youth in Nova Scotia since 1966

The facility is operated by a volunteer Board of Directors. We have been offering summer camps for children aged 6-17 since 1966. Situated on over 500 acres of woods and water in the northeast corner of Halifax Regional Municipality, it is the ideal place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city life! Our summer camps include: out-tripping, sports & games, arts & crafts, canoeing, drama,

camp-wide games, faith exploration, and so much more. Kidston is accredited by both the United Church of Canada and the Camping Association of Nova Scotia. All our summer staff undergo thorough screening and training to ensure our campers have the best camping experience possible!

Registration is still open for Kidston’s summer programs! Limited spotd are still available for most weeks of camp, except Junior 2 and our leadership programs (JL and CIT), which currently are full with wait list spots available.

A week at Kidston included fun activities like canoeing, kayaking, crafts, swimming, sports, and wilderness exploration— alongside an overnight camping experience that allows campers to create new friendships and memories.

Similar to camping at a provincial park, each family/group will rent a cabin or a tent/trailer site and be responsible for their own gear, food, and activities.

During your stay, your family/group will have access to Kidston's beautiful site, including the waterfront, canoeing/kayaking, hiking, and more!

Kidston staff will be on site to provide assistance and activities throughout the weekend.

Family Camp precedes Tadpole week, and so it is a great opportunity to bring your first-time camper to Kidston, settle them in while you enjoy a couple of nights together as a family, then leave them for a few nights to make new friends and have some independent adventures, under the trained and caring eye of Kidston staff.
