Alright soccer fans!

Weather forecast calls for SUN, SUN, and more SUN tomorrow. Perfect for our 2026 season kickoff. Parents: Please bring a soccer ball, water bottle for water breaks, and the optional soccer cleats and shin pads for the little ones. Practice starts at 6:30pm at McKendry Park in Metcalfe.

The City of Ottawa Parks and Recreations branch has unfortunately misscheduled certain park/facility rentals and double-booked some of the dates I requested. As stated in my earlier posts, the dates requested were the following: All Thursday evenings in May and June for a total of 8 sessions. The season was due to commence on May 7th. Due to this, the sessions booked for Metcalfe Soccer are now as follows: Thursday evenings starting on May 21st to June 25th (inclusive) from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.

Hello everyone!

The registration cutoff date has been extended to Sunday April 26th, 2026, 10:00pm EST. This deadline is final. The group designation emails will be sent on Monday April 27th, and will not be modified further. Certificates/medals for our participants and other items need to be ordered, therefore, Metcalfe Soccer will no longer accept new registrations and access to the required forms will not be possible.

Alright soccer fans! It's that time again!

The spring season ends tomorrow June 26th. Same time, same place. There will be hot dogs, drinks, and popcorn. The Metcalfe Volunteer Firefighters will be onsite, as is tradition, to help us with the festivities. All registered participants will get a medal and certificate from their coaches (or me....) : )

Once again, I have to thank all the volunteers and volunteer coaches for donating their precious time and energy and helping make this another successful year. Thank you all so much for your continued support and participation. MCS is what it is because of you! Serious kudos and thank you to our parent volunteer coaches!!! You've all been amazing! A special thank you and shout out to our young coaches and volunteers Silas and Aaron. You have a gift for leadership that deserves to be recognized and will surely make a difference in our community.

I was recently made aware of an incident last week where someone was walking their dog within close proximity of the kids playing. This is unacceptable and will be addressed. The safety of all participants is paramount. While dogs are permitted inside the park, they should be kept outside the playing/practice area.

Hey soccer fans. Looks like a bit of rain tomorrow but the temperature will be in the 17 to 19 degree range so soccer is still on for tomorrow, May 29th!

Given the less than ideal weather/field conditions, expected temperature, and health and safety concerns voiced by many parents, tonight will unfortunately be cancelled.
