Caring for tmíxʷ

11 bags of garbage.
2 bags of cans.
1 hour.
3 dedicated nłeʔképmx Guardians.

Yesterday, nłeʔképmx Guardians Aleesha Rielley, Crystal Swayze, and Crow Bilouzenko spent part of their afternoon cleaning up garbage that had been irresponsibly dumped on tmíxʷ.

Their actions are a powerful reminder that caring for tmíxʷ is something we can all take part in. Every bag collected helps protect tmíxʷ for future generations and shows what can be accomplished when community members step up to make a difference.

nłeʔképmx Guardians invites community members to gather under August's full moon for an evening of learning, connection, and celebration. The quarterly Mini Symposium, themed qeʔqáytkin tək maʕxetn (The Salmon Reached the Source), will feature presentations from the Guardians Program, guest speakers, and interactive information booths highlighting important community initiatives.

Join us on August 28, 2026, at Cook's Ferry Gymnasium for an opportunity to share knowledge, strengthen relationships, and celebrate stewardship of the land and waters.

Dinner will be served at 5:00 PM.
