Community Futures Nicola Valley

Community Futures Nicola Valley CFDC Nicola Valley was established to assist residents of Merritt and the Nicola Valley.

We are a non-profit established in 1989 to assist residents of Merritt and the Nicola Valley in generating local solutions to shared economic challenges. The Community's we serve are Merritt, Aspen Grove, Brookmere, Douglas Lake, Lower Nicola and Quilchena. Business Partnerships; As a lender, we can often lend money to businesses or individuals who's banks are unable to assist. Many financial inst

itutions refer clients on to us as another potential source of financing. Or, we may work with financial institutions and other organizations on joint financing for clients. Many entrepreneurs have had success using a combination of loans from both Community Futures, their financial institution and/or other organizations. Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and supported by community members who volunteer to sit on Committees of the Board, CFNV offers a wide selection of Community Economic Development (CED) services including: small business lending and counseling; economic stabilization projects; and support for local not-for-profit agencies involved in tourism, arts and culture, and community vitality. Although not CFNV’s core mandate, we offer support where possible, to the City of Merritt Business Development Department which takes lead on investment attraction and municipally funded economic development services. Core funding for CFNV is provided by Pacific Economic Development Canada (PacifiCan) of the Government of Canada.
