BUSINESS LEADER OF THE YEAR
Recognizes a woman who demonstrates outstanding leadership in an established business or organization. She inspires others, makes sound decisions, supports her team and contributes to long-term business success.

ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR
Celebrates a woman who has built or grown a business through initiative, innovation, determination and strong entrepreneurial skills. Consider her vision, business achievements and ability to overcome challenges.

COMMUNITY IMPACT AWARD
Honor’s a woman whose business activities, volunteerism, partnerships or community initiatives have made a meaningful positive difference in the Nicola Valley. Consider local involvement, generosity, inclusion and lasting impact.

EMERGING BUSINESS LEADER AWARD
Recognizes a woman who is early in her business or leadership journey and is already demonstrating exceptional potential. Consider initiative, growth, creativity, leadership ability and promise for the future.

PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD
Celebrates a woman in business who is especially valued and appreciated by the community. This award recognizes the positive impression she makes through service, relationships, reputation and community support.

Nominations close: Sunday, November 8, 2026 at 11:59 PM.

Awards ceremony: Wednesday, November 18, 2026, 6:00 PM–8:00 PM at the NVIT Theatre, Merritt, BC. Free admission!

Thank You Merritt!

Community Futures Nicola Valley would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who attended our City Of Merritt All-Candidates Forum.

To the residents who came out, listened, and submitted thoughtful questions-thank you for being engaged in the future of our community. Your participation helped make the evening a meaningful opportunity to hear directly from those seeking to represent Merritt.

We also want to thank all the candidates for taking part, answering questions, sharing their perspectives, and giving residents an opportunity to learn more about them and their priorities for our community.

A special thank you to the City Of Merritt for supplying the venue, Merritt Herald for helping us promote the forum through the newspaper, Tourism Nicola Valley for helping us get the word out on the digital sign, and Darcy McLeod for moderating the evening and helping Community Futures Nicola Valley deliver a fair, respectful, and informative forum.

Now it's time for Merritt residents to choose the team that will represent our community for the next four years. Make your voices count – get out and vote!
