Melville and District Community Foundation The ultimate mission of a community foundation is to “enhance the quality of life in the community.”

Here at the Melville and District Community Foundation we are focused on enriching the lives of the people of Melville and surrounding communities. We do this, in part, by supplying grants to worthy groups and charities for projects undertaken to benefit the area in several categories, including but not limited to; recreation, youth, the arts, environment, education, culture and history, just to name a few. We rely on the generosity of others so that we may continue to "Give where we live".

The Melville and District Community Foundation wishes to thank the family of the late Gordon Matthews for designating us to receive memorial donations in his honour. Not only did they designate us, but they also matched all donations that came in. The donations and matching donations came to almost $1800. Gordon was a talented artist and educator in this area and understood the importance of community. We will put these funds to good use, perhaps in the areas of The Arts or Education.

📌 Position: Treasurer
📌 Organization: Melville and District Community Foundation

🌟 Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? We're seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Treasurer to join our non-profit organization!

💼 Responsibilities:
➡️ Maintain accurate financial records
➡️ Prepare annual comparative balance sheets & income statements
➡️ Submit reports to Information Services Canada annually
➡️ Provide monthly financial statements to board members
➡️ Collaborate with board members on financial strategies

📋 Position Requirements:
✔️ Strong organizational and communication skills
✔️ Knowledge of accounting software & practices
✔️ Experience with Government submissions (preferred)
✔️ Degree/Diploma in Accounting (or working towards one)
✔️ Team-oriented mindset

💰 Compensation:
An annual honorarium based on experience and successful completion of duties.
