We love this spring rain as much as any gardener! But it means we will be cancelling garden club this evening, unfortunately. Join us next week (weather permitting) for a free, hands-on learning opportunity for gardeners of all levels in Medicine Hat and surrounding area. We will be meeting Wednesdays June 17th and 24th in the community access garden behind the Root Cellar Food and Wellness Hub (440 Maple Avenue SE) at 7pm to talk about growing food, answer gardening questions, and help with planting/maintaining the gardens. Each session we cover a different topic and share helpful tips and resources for growing great gardens. Access and parking is available on 5th Street SE.
Growing Gardeners is Community Food Connections Association's free garden club. We are grateful for our partnership with Root Cellar Food and Wellness Hub for sharing their garden space with us. To find out more about Growing Gardeners, contact Genevieve at [email protected] See less

We're so excited for the three grant-funded public tree pickup opportunities this week that we decided to start our first day early!

Tomorrow's event now starts at 10 a.m. and still runs until 5 p.m.

Come on down to the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede grounds, west of Higdon Hall!

Can't make it tomorrow? We're also offering opportunities at the same location on the following days, or as supplies last:
πŸ“… Friday, May 22 – 1 to 5 p.m.
πŸ“… Saturday, May 23 – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

We will have approximately 1400 trees available for residents to plant on their private property, and eight different species to choose from which suit our growing conditions well. Tree care instructions will be provided on site.

This is open to Medicine Hat residents only, with a limit of one tree per person. But, load up the whole family and you can each come grab a tree if there's room in your vehicle and in your yard.
