Back for another exciting year of culinary demonstrations, tours, tastings and unique dining experiences, the 7th annual Sunshine Skillet Food Festival, in partnership with Tourism Medicine Hat will be held on May 17 & 18, 2019. This festival kicks off with the Coffee and Brewery tours on May 17th. The Sunshine Skillet Indy Coffee Tour starts with a hand-on coffee roasting experience. Visit the roasters, baristas, and independent coffee shop owners on this local expert led walking tour celebrating the rich local community in Canada’s sunniest City. Tickets Here Drink your way through local craft brew options at Medicine Hat’s 3 breweries; an adventure to the birthplaces of Medicine Hat’s most exceptional beverages. Each location with its own checkered history, flavour and personality hallmarked by quality and passion. Sit back, sip, relax and enjoy with people who appreciate a satisfying brew as much as you. Tickets Here On Saturday, May 18th come get your fresh ingredients at the Farmers’ Market at the Cypress Centre Fieldhouse and enjoy some culinary demonstrations between 9 AM and 1 PM. This is free to attend but bring some money along as there is sure to be something you won’t want to leave without. At 1:00 PM you can depart from the Fieldhouse for the Greenhouse Tour at Westland Fresh Produce in Redcliff where Don from the Hat’s Olive Tap will also do a salad demonstration and tasting. Tickets available on Eventbrite. Your ticket also includes round trip transportation and a gift of fresh produce from Westland and balsamic from Olive Tap. You will return to the Fieldhouse by 4 PM; in time to take part in the Sunset Dinner. Tickets Here To end the weekend is the coveted Sunset Dinner which is held on Saturday, May 18th, doors opening at 5:00 PM and dinner starts at 5:30 PM. You won’t want to miss this unique dining experience; where five seasoned chefs will be collaborating to create a 5-course menu to remember. Authentically local, each will feature ingredients sourced from Southern Alberta, paired with a beverage. This year’s dinner will be enhanced by the unique setting of the Infield at the Grandstands located on the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede grounds.
