Please help Duke find the family he so deserves 🙏 ❤️

Duke will return to our care tomorrow, after just 6 days at "home" 😌

He is barking at the fence at the neighbours dog.
We have offered a few solutions/suggestions and help via a trainer but his new owner is not willing to try.
Not to worry handsome wee boy, you are welcome here until the RIGHT family comes for you.
I take dogs returning to our care very personally and yet it will never deter me from maintaining our high standards in writing TRUTHFUL bios, and welcoming visitors most any time.
Our *minimum stay at the rescue retreat is in place so that we get to know the dogs before posting them for adoption. Giving them the best chance at staying HOME. *30 days.

We are also ALWAYS available to help you through some of the issues that may arise, for the life of that dog.

Please know we are not offering perfect dogs for adoption *unless you are a perfect person.
(I've not met one yet)
However there are perfect pairings *dogs & people, if you are committed to keeping you family together, and putting in the required work.

I'm sorry I have failed you Duke 😔

Archie needs a home!

Archie is one of those poopas who doesn’t have to try very hard to put his best foot forward!

This boy loves everyone (except maybe cats!), and he is always very happy & playful! Such a cuddly comedian & one of the most social dogs we’ve known – he is a true joy to be around! He weighs in the low 40s and is an energetic two-year old, yet he settles well!

Archie would love to step into your life & make you smile! For more info, check out the Pink Pinned Post at the top of our page marked “IMPORTANT INFORMATION!” It will tell you exactly what the next step is, and we guarantee it will be a joyful one!

Archie needs a home🤩

Archie is so very affectionate & social, and that makes him soooooo easy to celebrate! We are cheering with him because he is now heartworm negative! WTG, Archie!

We initially believed Archie was around 3-4 years old, but now that he is healthy, we are guessing he may be younger! He weighs 39 lbs and every ounce is filled with bubbly energy! Of course, like all our dogs, he is neutered, microchipped & UTD on all his vaccines & flea/tick/heartworm prevention.

We believe Archie will settle well into a new home. He loves to play, loves his people, and does great in a car! He doesn’t seem to care for cats though.

Check out his album, Archie Needs a Home, in the Photos section of our page, where you’ll also see a video of him in action & lots of photos. Then, send us an email at [email protected]. We can transport Archie to the front door of the right adopter almost anywhere in the continental US or southern Ontario for no additional charge over our usual $150 adoption fee.

#85 and #1 of the hounds I have found homes for running
Heidi's Horse and Hound Retirement.
I started HHH to help the hunt club hounds that didn't work out as hunters or were ready for a quiet retired life. I was told I was crazy for wanting to bring "kennel hounds" in the house. These past 7 years have proved how well these hounds adjust to house life and become treasured family members.
With HHH, I have also been able to help many rescue hounds and beagles that didn't have homes find families of their own.
It has been an incredible journey , and I feel blessed to have been such a big part of my life.
This chapter is now closing as my family and I are moving on to new adventures.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has shown us love and support and helped us help 85 hounds and beagles, retired and rescues, have a fresh start with loving families❤️
