TEK Elders GROUP The purpose of TEK Elders Group is to educate and generate awareness of environmental issues we all face as interdependent participants in nature.

TEK stands for "traditional ecological knowledge" and refers to the understanding and respect one has for the land, passed down from generation to generation. It implies a responsibility to protect the lands and waters and creatures, to live in harmony with it all, and to make daily decisions as water warriors and land warriors. The TEK Elders Group, spearheaded by Anishinaabe Elders Raymond Owl a

nd Willie Pine, is comprised of like-minded concerned citizens of the North Shore Region stretching from Garden River through North Bay who are committed to protecting the water and lands of the region, most notably from the spraying of herbicides and pesticides.
