"Interested in getting to know the amazing birds of Haida Gwaii? Come get some birding tips at this introductory level workshop at the library through games, activities and a guided bird walk (weather dependent).

Who? Everyone! All ages welcome (children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult)
When? Saturday, Dec. 9th from 2 to 4 pm

It's already been two and a half months since the five-north youth stewards completed their season!

Haida Gwaii Youth Stewardship began in 2005, and has supported over 150 local youth, over 16 summer season, in accessing meaningful employment, while learning about natural resource management of the beautiful islands of Haida Gwaii.

It was an honour to be a part of the Gyahgadaang Haida Gwaii Unite Youth Gathering, where students from the north and south of the islands gathered for a full day of workshops, food and connection. Huge haw'aa/hawaa to all the organizers, host-Kiefer Collison, and workshop leaders!

Students were given high energy tasks that combined drama/arts and science to reflect on their groups knowledge of some local topics.

YSP aims to support youth island wide, to connect with one another and develop skills while exploring topics of stewardship, management & climate change solutions.
