Masset Legion Branch 244 The Royal Canadian Legion/BC Yukon Command is a non-profit organization consisting of 148 Branches, 33 Ladies’ Auxiliaries, and over 50,000 members.

We are one of the foremost and most respected community service organizations in Canada, serving veterans, ex-service personnel, seniors, youth and many aspects of community life. At the Legion, we are guided by three pillars: Remember, Join & Give:

RememberRemembering allows us to reflect and honour long-term veterans and their families, and to be here to support a new generation of veterans

. JoinJoining is all about membership and volunteering—the Legion is where belonging matters, and where you can make a real difference with your time and talent. To complement the Legion’s façade improvements and create a cohesive visual flow between the two new murals, new signage was just installed.

The updated signage enhances the building’s overall appearance, improves visibility of the Legion, and contributes to a more attractive, vibrant, and welcoming community space.

This project was made possible through grant funding from the Northern Development Initiative Trust - Business Façade Improvement Program, Village of Masset, and local contractor - Gavin Hooton.

In celebration of the Royal Canadian Legion’s 100th Anniversary, Branch 244 in Masset, BC is proud to announce the completion of another community initiative. Our new mural, By Land, By Sea, By Air, is now finished and available for everyone to enjoy.

The mural blends traditional Legion imagery with distinctive Haida and island-inspired elements, reflecting both Legion heritage and the unique character of our community.

This project was made possible through funding from the Gwaii Trust Society - Community Innovation Grant and the talents of local artists - Thomas Arnatt & Shelly Samuels. We extend our sincere thanks to all who contributed to bringing this vision to life.
