ORANGE SHIRT DAY AT THE ḴAY | SEPTEMBER 30

Join us at the Haida Heritage Centre for National day of truth and reconcilliation — a day to remember, reflect and honour, but also to recognize our resilience and the strength of our people as we continue moving forward together in a positive way.

The doors will be open with FREE ADMISSION throughout the day. Bring the kids, walk through the Centre, spend some time together and enjoy a relaxed day Celebrating at the Ḵay with community.

The CHN's Gaagwiis will be joining us at the centre and set up in one of our classrooms for a drop-in question and answer session with the Council of the Haida Nation. Community members are welcome to stop in, sit down and engage with him about Haida Title Implementation, ask questions and learn more about the work moving forward.

There will be activities for the kids, including a bouncy castle in the Carving Shed, with Parks Canada joining us with actrivities. KISS in Tlell will be here with snacks.

Orange Shirt Day carries a great deal of meaning. Alongside remembering and honouring those who came before us, we want this to be a day where our community can simply be together — where our children can play, our people can visit, questions can be asked, stories and knowledge can be shared, and everyone is welcome through the doors.

September 30th at the Haida Heritage Centre at Ḵay ‘Llnagaay.

Come as you are. Bring your family. Spend some time at the Ḵay.
