In the 1950's diaries were commonplace in most of the small villages. Neal's and Hannah's were our local ones. Some samples of their bottles are shown below. Jim Cuddy donated these ones. Marmora Township was missing from the 1878 Historical Atlas. After investing more than three hundred hours of our time, we created our own map from land records from that time period. The resulting map is available at Marmora Historical Foundation, in several varieties and prices.

In 1943 Deloro began to show movies at the town hall. However, gas restrictions during WW2 limited attendance from afar.

The construction of Highway 7, through the village of Marmora, in 1933-34, helped many area families survive the depression. The link below gives more detail about that project.

Marmora council and Hydro Commission members, circa 1960? Ralph Neal, Miriam Savage, Bob Maynes and William Shannon. Mariam was the first woman to hold the position of Marmora Village clerk. As well, she was the Secretary Treasurer of the Marmora Hydro Commission. She is wearing a corsage, so possibly, since Bob Maynes, the Hydro Commissioner is present, the occasion could be her retirement.
