An energetic night 😁🎵

Andrew Cheung (張崇基) held his first solo concert, One Live, last Friday at 12Fifty Event Centre. Our trainees had so much fun joining him on stage during his performance of “O Sole Mio”. From beginning to end, the audience had a blast listening to Andrew’s songs.

A big thank you goes out to Andrew and his team for connecting with us and having our organization be the concert’s beneficiary.

By the end of the night, $13,500 was raised for Cherish! We are so grateful for everyone’s generosity and hope you all had a great time at the concert.

Join Andrew at 12Fifty Event Centre on Aug. 28 to watch his first ever solo concert. He’s so excited to share his musical journey with you. Our trainees thoroughly enjoyed their time with him and are cheering him on!

Thank you RBC volunteers for visiting us 🫶

Today, our trainees learned about the environment and the things they can do to be environmentally friendly. They worked with RBC volunteers to make bird feeders and place them outside our centre. Our trainees had a lot of fun collaborating with volunteers during this hands-on activity.

Everyone had a great time chatting and crafting together!

Our trainees had so much fun meeting Andrew (張崇基) last week 🤩

He made sure to greet and speak to so many trainees. He even took the time to listen and sing with our trainees for a short karaoke session. Everyone enjoyed getting to know one another and taking photos. We’re so happy to have been able to share more about our organization and the work we do for those with developmental disabilities.

We're welcoming new trainees to our Vocational Training & Employment Services (VTES) program 🤓

Enrollment is open for our vocational program! Our new centre is designed to support adults with developmental disabilities in developing job skills in a real cafe. Our classroom and hands-on experiences provide a comprehensive learning environment. Please note that trainee enrollment spots are limited.

We've been cooking up a storm at the centre 👨‍🍳🍳

From the kids in our summer camp to the adults in our day program, everyone has been getting hands-on in the kitchen. They’ve made a variety of food and drinks from pancakes to cookies! Cooking is a great way for trainees to develop their independence while learning other skills like measuring, using appliances, and more. By growing this skill, they can help out at home and make simple meals!

Our eyes are glued on the World Cup ⚽

Our trainees have been super excited about watching soccer lately, so we've been getting everyone involved with World Cup themed activities! They've been doing crafts, watching games, playing soccer, and cooking. Trainees have been learning about different countries, sports, sportsmanship, and more.
