We have an incredible time at the York Region Police International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination! This year felt special as we gathered at a new venue the Markham Fairgrounds.

It is heartening to see our members’ children joining us to learn the importance of harmony and inclusion. We also love catching up with fellow Lions from Markham Mantra Lions Club and Rotarians from the Markham-Unionville Rotary Club. It truly takes a village to build a stronger community!

The Heritage Lions Club’s 19th Effective Speaking Contest
🎤 What an inspiring day celebrating the voices of our youth! This year, the Ontario York Heritage Lions Club proudly hosted the 19th Effective Speaking Contest at Ark Christian Community Church in Markham, welcoming 35 talented student contestants. Each participant brought thoughtful ideas, confidence, and passion to the stage.
We are especially excited to introduce our first French division this year, creating more opportunities for students to express their ideas and demonstrate their public speaking skills.
👏Congratulations to all contestants and winners! Your courage and preparation made the event truly memorable. A heartfelt thank you to our parents, teachers, judges, volunteers, and Lions members for your dedication and support. Events like this continue to inspire and empower the next generation of leaders in our community.

曦揚獅子會第19屆學生演講比賽精彩回顧
🎤我們非常高興與大家分享今年活動的精彩時刻！安省約克區曦揚獅子會今年於萬錦市的方舟基督社區教會舉辦第19屆學生演講比賽。今年共有35位同學參加， 參賽者在講台上自信發言，分享不同的觀點與想法，展現出優秀的表達能力與勇氣。
今年的比賽亦首次增設法語組別 ，讓更多同學能夠以不同語言展現他們的演講技巧，令活動更多元生動。

🏆The Ontario York Region Heritage Lions Club is excited to host the Effective Speaking Contest 2026 on Mar 7 at Ark Christian Community Church (NW of Denison St/ McCowan Rd)
This is an amazing opportunity for students to:
