Children Believe

Children Believe We break barriers to education so children can dream and live fearlessly. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’œ Did you know?

In 1960, following a history of helping kids find refuge amidst strife and support through child sponsorship, Dr. Verent Mills and Dr. J. Calvitt Clarke helped create Christian Children's Fund of Canada. Since we began 60 years ago, our mission remains centred on helping children of all faiths, cultures and ethnicities overcome poverty and injustice, inspired by Christ's love and compassion. In 20

19, we became Children Believe to make every child and person feel welcome and inspired to join our cause. For the full story about our heritage visit: https://childrenbelieve.ca/about-us/who-we-are/

Meet 12-year-old Susanth from India! โญ

He and his sister are the first generation in their family to go to school. His grandparents never had the opportunity to get an education, but Susanth is helping change that story. Thanks to the Creative Learning Centre in his village, he has a safe, fun and supportive space to learn and grow.

And heโ€™s already using his voice to make a difference in his community! By joining a rally against child labour, heโ€™s helping protect every childโ€™s right to learn and he even encouraged his friends to attend class regularly too! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ“š

๐Ÿ’œ With dreams of becoming a scientist one day, we have no doubt heโ€™ll make his family proud!

What happens when the nearest clinic is a 10km walk away? ๐ŸŒ

In Bongnaayili, Ghana, that distance can turn an everyday illness into a life-threatening emergency for mothers and young children.

We recently walked through the community alongside our local team to see the reality firsthand and to look at the community-led efforts already underway to bring vital care closer to home. ๐Ÿ’œ

Why do girls miss school during their period?

Across many communities, the answer is often linked to access.

When girls donโ€™t have what they need like menstrual products, safe and private washrooms, or supportive environments, it can affect their ability to attend school and learn with confidence.

These realities contribute to missed school days and lost learning opportunities for girls around the world.

As Menstrual Hygiene Day approaches, weโ€™re reflecting on what menstrual health means beyond the surface and why education should never be interrupted by a period.

In remote communities like Bongnaayili, Northern Ghana, distance continues to shape access to essential healthcare. ๐Ÿฉบ

When care is far away, even basic health needs can become harder to reach in time.

This week, as we reflect on health access for women and girls, weโ€™re sharing stories that highlight why proximity to care matters.

Stay tuned as we share more from this community later this week.

Inside Blas Garay, Paraguay, children are growing up in a community shaped by isolation, silence, and limited access to support systems.

But change is taking root. ๐ŸŒฑ

Through safe spaces, children are learning about their rights, building confidence, and accessing opportunities that help protect them from harm.

From early childhood classrooms to digital learning spaces and music programs, these environments are helping children feel safe enough to learn, connect, and speak up. ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ’ป

At the same time, families and caregivers are being engaged through parenting programs that are helping strengthen protection at home and in the community.

๐ŸŒŸ Because when children are seen, heard, and supported, safer futures become possible.

In communities like Blas Garay, Paraguay, the reasons children leave school run deep and they are often hard to see.

โ€ข Safety risks: The walk to school or being out after dark isn't safe.
โ€ข Hidden violence: Fear and abuse replace what should be a safe learning environment.
โ€ข Generational silence: Many children grow up not knowing their rights or where to go for help.

These aren't just obstacles, they are daily realities.

๐Ÿ’œ Thatโ€™s why safe spaces matter. When children feel safe, they stay in school.
