This year marked a time of listening, learning, and leading at Kinark. Guided by our commitment to the children, youth, families, and the communities we serve, we focused on building strong connections, aligning our internal teams, and advancing meaningful improvements across our services.

Our 2025/26 Annual Report highlights key achievements, including our focus on engaging families, the expansion of Triple P programming into new service areas, enhanced supports for Francophone families, and many other important milestones that are helping us create better life outcomes.

Today is International Youth Day! As an organization dedicated to supporting children, youth, and families, we believe in the inherent strengths, and potential of every young person. We are proud to walk alongside them, helping to foster the well-being, skills, and confidence they need to thrive. We also deeply understand the challenges they may face, including those related to mental health and well-being.

This Youth Day we are encouraging those that are looking for support to check out One Stop Talk. One Stop Talk offers free virtual counselling for youth 18 and under across Ontario:
- Mon-Fri: 12 to 8 p.m. EST
- Sat: 12 to 4 p.m. EST

A Message to Our Community

Kinark and OPSEU/SEFPO Local 355 are pleased to share that an agreement has been reached, ending the strike.

Both parties remained focused on the continuity of care for clients and their families. We recognize the impact this has had on our community, and we are grateful for the patience and understanding shown to us throughout.

The path forward is one of reconciliation and renewed strength. Kinark is driven by a commitment to those we serve, and to the employees who make that care possible. As we return to full service delivery, we do so with appreciation for a community that continues to stand with us.

July is . A time to celebrate and recognize the disability community, honour the contributions that individuals with disabilities have made, while also reflecting on the importance of challenging ableism and removing barriers to inclusion.

Disability is not always visible. Many people live with disabilities that may not be immediately apparent, and every person's experience is unique. By fostering respect and understanding we can help create environments where everyone feels supported.

Inclusion should be woven into everything we do. From the way we communicate and collaborate, to the policies, spaces, and experiences we design. Creating a sense of belonging requires ongoing commitment and intention. Together, we can build communities where accessibility is prioritized, differences are celebrated, and everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

At Kinark, we recognize that diversity is a strength that enriches the lives of the children, youth, and families we serve. Today is an opportunity to celebrate the many cultures, languages, and perspectives that shape our communities across Ontario.

We are committed to creating inclusive, culturally responsive services where every individual feels seen, heard, and supported. By embracing diversity and learning from one another, we help build stronger, healthier communities for everyone.

June is National Indigenous History Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.

We acknowledge the strength, resilience, and leadership of Indigenous communities, past and present, and commit to listening, learning, and supporting meaningful reconciliation every day.

The best way to gain a deeper understanding of First Nations, Inuit and Métis experiences is through their own voices:
• Read books by Indigenous authors
• Attend events and community gatherings
• Watch films or performances
• Listen to music by Indigenous artists
• Follow First Nations, Inuit and Métis creators on social media

Kinark’s Group-based Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) programs provide children and youth with a supportive, structured environment to build essential life and social skills alongside peers.

Our ABA-based groups are clinician-led, evidence-based, and designed to meet every participant right where they are.

Groups available this summer:

🧸 Ready, Set, Play! (Ages 2–5)
🔭 Explorer Club (Ages 5–8)
🛡️ Bully Proofing Crew (Ages 7–12, Virtual)
🐉 Dungeons & Dragons (Ages 13–18, Virtual)
💛 PEERS® Dating (Ages 13–18, Virtual)

Groups are available in-person in Barrie, Markham & Oshawa, and virtually across Ontario.
