Happy Pride Month from all of us at Kinark! Kinark proudly stands as an inclusive space for members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. All individuals are safe when they walk through our doors. Kinark strives to create environments where individuals feel seen, heard, and affirmed in who they are.

Staff at Kinark are trained to approach care through a lens of respect, cultural humility, and trauma-informed practice. This includes using inclusive language, honouring chosen names and pronouns, and ensuring that service delivery is responsive to the diverse identities of the children and families we support.

Important update for families in Simcoe:

Kinark is currently in the collective bargaining process with our unionized Child & Youth Mental Health staff in Simcoe County, and we are actively experiencing a labour disruption as of today, Monday, May 25.

Supporting children, youth, and families remains our top priority as we work toward a fair resolution while maintaining care wherever possible.

What this means for families:
- Some services or appointments may be temporarily adjusted
-️ Virtual care may be offered when clinically appropriate
-️ Families will be contacted directly if their services are impacted

Please note, Kinark’s Crisis Services in the region will continue to be available from Monday to Friday 9 a.m. – 9 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. If you need urgent support, please visit your nearest emergency department. On International Supervised Visitation Awareness Day, we recognize and celebrate the essential contributions of parenting time professionals who make connection possible. 🧡

Through their care and expertise, our Supervised Access teams create safe, structured environments where children and families can maintain meaningful relationships, even in complex and challenging circumstances. Their work helps prioritize child well-being, foster stability, and support families through times of transition.

To these true guardians of connection, thank you for being the steady presence families can rely on.

Today is National Child and Youth Mental Health Day 💚

Mental health plays a vital role in how children and youth learn, grow, and connect with the world around them. With the right support, early on, young people can build resilience, confidence, and hope for the future.

At Kinark, we support children and youth mental health through a full range of assessment and treatment services.

Together, we can reduce stigma and strengthen mental health for children and youth.
