In the GREAT WHITE NORTH where Rizal was given a home in Markham the Filipino Canadian community gathered this morning of December 27, 2025 to commemorate his 129th MARTYRDOM anniversary with a WREATH LAYING ceremony… we are pleased to share this album to our fellow patriots in diaspora… as we braved the -12 C blustery winds and a foot+ thick snow drifts from last night’s snowstorm dump, representing all kababayans in Canada at this full Rizal monument that Markham Filipinos had gifted to the peoples of Canada on behalf of all Filipino Canadians in this country… MABUHAY Rizal & sambayanang Filipino!

The Markham Federation of Filipino Canadians held their Annual General Meeting on December 7, 2025 via Zoom. This is the sixth year the AGM has been held virtually.

The meeting was hosted by Ester Toribio and co-hosted by Arthur Canseco. After going through the agenda for the meeting, discussing the financial status of the MFFC, Chair's annual report and announcing the 5 elected board members, the meeting adjourned on a high note. The MFFC has elected the following members for a term of 3 years by acclamaton: Art Canseco, Marian Cusi, Emma Guerzon, Anna Torres and Melissa Torres. The MFFC wishes to congratulate the elected board members.

MFFC Volunteers Awardees for 2025

For every year that the Markham Federation of Filipino Canadians (MFFC) thrive, our members are honoured for their service by the Canadian government. This year we have nominated 15 members from our seniors and youth group. The awardees are Yoly Ladines, Alice Chiu, Ester Toribio, Lito & Candy Martin, Purita Fargas, Ofie Reyes, Sancho Guerzon, Loudette Canseco. Not in the photos are Gary de las Alas, Anna Torres, Sabrina de las Alas, Angelica Canseco, Chloe Musca and Malou Dizon. The MPPs present were Hon. Billy Pang, Hon. Logan Kanapathi, Hon. Daisy Wai and Hon. Laura Smith.
