2026 Remembrance Day Service – Branch #183 Royal Marathon Canadian Legion

Planning is underway for our Remembrance Day Service for 2026. Our service will happen Wednesday, 11 Nov 2026 at 37 Howe St, Royal Canadian Legion. We are asking our guests to arrive and be seated no later than 10:20 am. There will be a light lunch of chili served following the service.

Poppy Campaign

This year marks the inaugural approach of a standardized poppy campaign, beginning now every year on 24 Oct and running until 11 Nov. Poppy donation boxes will once again be placed throughout the town, where poppies are available for all, and of course donations can be made at the same time.

Wreaths

Wreaths will be available for purchase for both individuals and organizations. There are two sizes, small ($55) and large ($65). Wreaths can be purchased at the Legion during our normal opening hours (Mon – Sat, 3 – 6 pm). Wreaths will be placed during the setup of the hall by Cadets. National, Provincial, Municipal and other wreaths will be laid following the two minutes of silence.

White Cross

Branch #183 Marathon Royal Canadian Legion and 900 Ma’iingan Royal Canadian Air Cadets will begin taking orders for the Remembrance Day White Crosses on October 6, 2026. The funds raised through the White Cross Program are fed right back into our community, aiding those local initiatives and groups who rely on donations.
A table will be set up, a couple days a week, at Marathon Centre Mall to take orders throughout the month of October, or orders can be placed by calling or texting Donna Jaculak at 807-228-1455. Cost is $25 per cross. Crosses will be delivered and placed at your residence on November 1st and picked up on November 12th. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #183 and 900 Ma’iingan Air Cadets thank you in advance for your support.
Payment can be made or arranged through Donna Jaculak when ordering the cross.

Dear new Girl Guides,

Hi! 👋

If you're reading this, there's a good chance you're about to start your Girl Guides adventure… and I couldn't be more excited for you!

I know starting something new can feel like a mix of excitement and butterflies. You might be wondering:

Will I make friends?
What if I don't know anyone?
What if I've never been camping or tried any of the activities before?

Here's the truth: you don't have to have it all figured out.
None of us did when we started, not even me!

Girl Guides isn't about being the loudest, the bravest, or the most outdoorsy person in the room. It's about showing up exactly as you are.

Some days you'll build something amazing. Some days you'll laugh until your cheeks hurt. You might discover a new hobby, learn a skill you never thought you'd enjoy, or surprise yourself by doing something that feels impossible now.

One of my favourite things about Girl Guides is that everyone belongs. Whether you love science, art, hiking, music, coding, crafts, sports, or you're still figuring out what you love, there's a place for you here.
You're going to meet other girls and youth who cheer you on, volunteers who believe in you, and friends who might just become some of your favourite people.

And if I’m lucky, you’ll get to meet me!

So bring your curiosity, your questions and your big ideas. Bring your whole self.

Because Girl Guides isn't about becoming someone else. It's about discovering just how amazing you already are.

Welcome to Girl Guides! I’m so glad you're here.

- Andrea, Your Guiding Ambassador
