That's a wrap! Concours Oratoire 2026 is in the books and we are very proud of all the students that participated! Congratulations to Maple Ridge - Pitt Meadows School District No. 42's very own Elizabeth Sali, a Grade 7 French Immersion student at Laityview Elementary, who placed first🥇! The Canadian Parents for French Concours d’art oratoire is Canada’s largest French public speaking competition. Way to go Elizabeth!!!

💬 Calling all French-language learners! Are you ready to face your fear of public speaking and showcase your talent? Join Concours d’art oratoire, Canada’s largest French public-speaking competition! 🏆

📝 What’s the challenge?

Write and record yourself performing a 3–5-minute speech in French on any topic of your choice. Your submission will then be assessed by a panel of judges for a chance to win cash prizes and scholarships! Plus, the top winners in Grades 11 & 12 could qualify for the National Finals! 🌟

🔑 Eligibility:

• Grades 9-12 students
• Reside in Canada
• Your school is 250+ km from an in-person semi-final? You’re eligible!
• Must register by April 25, 2026. Video submission deadline is May 2, 2026.

works to support children and youth in Francophone schools across the country, especially those with disabilities or learning difficulties. Their goal is to promote inclusive schools where every student feels happy, supported, and included. To better understand the experiences of Canadian Parents for French, they will soon be hosting a parent focus group just for our organization.
