AGM recap. Ten people attended. 13 have paid 2026 membership fees. The regular meeting that was to precede the AGM was not necessary as the new members involved did not attend. One of the most significant exercises was to thank everyone that contributed to CHArt in any way over the previous year. Those numbers are commendable! If I. Issued anyone forgive me. In no particular order: The person that plowed the path to the hall and parking lot area - a pleasant surprise. Don & Warren for turning on the heat & water, salting and sanding and getting the toilets working. Netta Burry for arranging the food for the AGM and John Hicks for picking it up. Netta for arranging food for multiple functions, theme decorating and Wellness workshops. John for use of his costumes. Both of them for Launch Day. Linda Forbes for recording minutes for all meetings and emailing them to applicable groups. Don Forbes for being building watchdog and heritage compliance guru. Together for applying for Heritage grants. Gary Hanrahan for keeping the bills paid, various government agencies happy by filing reports and keeping records. Art Burton - Theatre/ stagemaster/ playwright/producer/light and sound man for most events, mentor to many and errand runner when needed. Stacy Porter - theatre productions. Trudy Thompson faithful greeter and on-site ticket master at events. She’s a whiz in the kitchen too. Janice Lockyer for website and promotion work. Ken from Shoreline Plumbing unplugging sink drain. Deneen Newport keeping an eye on policy and procedure to make sure everything is up to s***f and looking for grant funding opportunities. Bob Bright,a for fixing the hand railing on hall ramp. Jeff Thurber for repairing step going into basement of theatre. John McRae for putting up Launch Day pole hangings. Our collaborators - Friends of Lawrence House and Maitland Days committees. Denise Thompson for adding to Launch Day by executing dubbers run. Josh Burbidge for cleaning gutter over hall ramp. We would be amiss if we did acknowledge the unfaltering dedication of Marjorie Thompson for all CHArt activities and in particular her enthusiasm for putting together the annual dime auction. She is missed.
To EACH And EVERY person that helped at-and/or attended any event or did any task that needed to be done be assured it is noticed and appreciated. Our circle of helpers is growing.
Together we can continue to support and uphold culture, heritage and the arts in this area of our province. Gloria
