A consultant with Bioinventory Monitoring Group retrieved a memory card from one of their trail cameras at the Beagan Nature Reserve and found this amazing capture of a couple of Sandhill Cranes (Antigone canadensis). Much of their diet is plant material along with some insects and snails.
Conducting thorough ecological surveys on all new reserves is a vital first step for us. It guides our property management and helps us shape the individual 5-year management plans we create—and continuously update—for every single nature reserve. 🌿
