After welcoming Fred in the morning with his animals and having a BBQ lunch with families, the fun began with the water balloons Friday.

During all the water fun, we like to take the time to reflect on the week.

Tie Dye t-shirts were created by each child throughout the week and turned out amazing!

Many stories were told and even some movies were watched during some down time to help keep everyone cool from the summer heat.

Surprised 4 legged guest showed up to love upon everyone!

Ideas for next year were collected from parents and children.

We look forward to next year and welcome any suggestions anyone may have as we begin to plan.

Again, THANK YOU to everyone who made this week happen - its a Queensborough Tradition that will be celebrating 20 years in 2027!

(Part 2)

While the Fire Department was cleaning up, a member of the Central Hastings OPP stopped in.

After answering many, many questions from the children, he showed them his vehicle.

They discussed many topics from bike safety to the tools the police use.

They walked away with more knowledge about the police force and some great advice about using communication first in any situation.

Touch the truck day aka Safety Education Day (Part one)

Our first visit of the day was the Tweed Fire Department.

Not only did they teach the children many things from camp fire safety to candle safety when the power is out - a firefighter suited up and showed the kids what he looks and sounds like in his gear.

They even did a demonstration so each kid understands what to do in case they are ever in a situation where a firefighter (all suited up) is searching for them.

We then went outside, had a chance to use the hose and then run in a sprinkler they set up!

Music Day

Andy taught us all about different drums, beats and sounds.

After creating our own drum sticks, he challenged everyone to find different sounds outside with them; exploring the outdoors in a different way!

Another Summer Drop-in Program in the books, with many memories made!

We would like to thank all our guests for spending time with us this week;

- Peter & Carol who always return with more fun and interactive stories
- Andy with his love for music, who taught the kids music can be found anywhere with a drum stick
- Tweed Fire Department who taught us fire safety, showed us a demonstration and allowed us to spray the hose and play in the sprinkler
- Madoc OPP for answering all the kids' questions and showing off their police car
- Madoc Garden Centre for returning to teach us more about our garden and create beautiful centrepieces together
- Fred for returning with his animals for us to learn about and enjoy
- All the families who attended our end of week BBQ

And of course a huge thank you to our counsellors, counsellors in training and all the children who attended. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
