Yesterday at 3:26 PM MFD was dispatched to a bailer fire south of Macklin. Upon arrival it was found a bailer, a truck and many round bails as well as stubble was involved. We were able to cut off the fire before it hit pasture. All units were involved and a second page was sent out for additional firemen.

We would like to thank all those with water trucks that assisted, your help was invaluable, as well as others that helped with equipment or just a rake!

All units back in service at 6:37 PM.

MFD was dispatched to a Motor Vehicle on fire at 10:10 Am today. 7 members responded and the fire was handled quickly. Back in service at 10:50 AM.

You may have noticed MFD has posted about some recent Medical First Responder (MFR) responses.

While the MFD has 3 members that are MFR certified they have operated outside of the fire dept for medical calls other then when we respond to Vehicle accidents. These members have been in place for roughly 3 years and over this time we have noticed a need for this service to be expanded as EMS times can very if our local ambulance is busy or out of service. Response times can be upwards of 30 to 45 minutes easily. With the support of the Town of Macklin, RM of Eye Hill, the Fire Board and some other local entities, we are going to expand this service. The dept has an additional 6 members that will become MFR certified and we will integrate this service into the Fire dept going forward.
You will now see members respond from the hall in our FD apparatus. It is our intention to serve our area with the best service we can.

Two members of MFD attended a foam firefighting training day on Sept 18th at Vermillion Fire College put on by National Foam on how to use and apply foam to petroleum based fires.

MFD responded to a bale and barn fire north of Macklin at 11:17 AM today. Command, Engine 1 and 2 as well as Wildland 2 and 3 attended. All units back at the hall and back in service at 1 PM.
