Since our last update, the Board of Directors has been busy working with our consulting group, JTW Consulting, finalizing property requirements as well as applying for grants with various organizations.
We are happy to report that we have finalized the plot of land that would be required. As you know it is the old Ernie Bodin land as well as some additional areas within the land plot.
Our consultant, JTW Consulting, has visited the site and has provided us with a design team organization, Bonni Madison. We have also had a preliminary meeting with Bonni Maddison. Here is their website for further information, https://bonimaddison.com
Additionally, we have been fortunate to have been awarded two separate grants during the first part of 2026 as well as an anonymous private donation.
The first grant from the Macleod Lake Community Forest was in the amount of $25,000.00 and the second grant was from IREN in the amount of $17,000.00. We would like to thank the Macleod Lake Community Forest as well as IREN for their contributions. In addition to these grants we also had an anonymous donor provide us with a donation.
These three amounts will allow us to complete the first phase of the project.
This first phase covers environmental assessment, servicing reports, and most importantly design. We are hopeful that the design phase will be completed by the end of 2026 or early 2027.
