We will be at the Community Garden this Thursday from 10-3 with the Book Bike stocked with gardening books for adults and nature-themed books for children.
Preschool Storytime will be at the Community Garden as well from 10:30-11:30, where we will be making fairy homes 🧚‍♀️🧚🧚‍♂️ Enter to win some books and gardening gloves if you stop by! 🪴

Gardening worker bee continues this weekend!

SUNDAY, we will start at 10am and we’re hoping for a bunch of members to help make the work lighter. Existing members of the garden - we hope to see you! New members - we can’t wait to meet you!!
We’re such lucky gardeners to have some students from Mackenzie Secondary School helping as well.

Tasks:
- raking up old wood chips
- maintenance on existing beds.
- staining the new compost system.
- painting the gazebo
- construction & placement of new beds. Thank you MSS wood shop for cutting and staining those and to Mackenzie Men’s Shed for building them!

Materials needed:
- rakes
- wheel barrows
- drills
*If you are coming to the garden, and you have these, could you bring some to help? We have two wheelbarrows but if we have 15 people moving wood chips, it would be faster with more wheelbarrows. Plus, the maintenance of the beds will require a handful of people with drills.

It’s almost that time and we’ve already seen eager folks cleaning beds and prepping for growing season. Love it!
If you haven’t done so, please send $40 to mackenziecommunitygarden(at)gmail.com to reserve your bed. If you had a garden last year and won’t be using it this year, please send us a message as we have gardeners on the waitlist.
