🐟 Fresh fish has arrived in Blockhouse!

Curtis, the Fish Guy, is set up at the Blockhouse Corner this morning with fresh haddock and halibut cheeks available while supplies last.

Can't make it today? No worries! He'll be back on Friday with fresh halibut, haddock, and lobster.

A big thank you to Meghan and Mary Jane for adding some beautiful flowers around the Canadian flagpole at Blockhouse Park! 🌼🇨🇦

It's wonderful to see these thoughtful touches helping make our park even more welcoming and beautiful for everyone to enjoy. Thank you both for your time, care, and community spirit!

Have you noticed the new addition to Blockhouse park lately? 🌲✨

We'd like to extend our sincere thanks to Naugler Family Trees for donating a Norway Spruce that will one day shine as our community's permanent Christmas tree.

Though it's still young, we can already imagine the lights, laughter, and holiday memories that will gather around it in the years ahead. We're grateful for the generosity of local businesses and community members who help make our shared spaces even more special.

We were also fortunate to have a very dedicated supervisor on site, Megan's dog Dozer, who stopped by to inspect the work and make sure the tree was planted to his exact standards. 🐾😉

Be sure to keep an eye out for our newest park resident next time you're visiting! 💚

What a beautiful spring day it was today!! As this gorgeous weather brings growth and wildflowers, here's a good reminder of a wildflower that can be mistaken for a poisonous plant:

Don’t guess with lookalikes like this one ⚠️ I always tell people to check the stem before anything else because that detail can save you from a very dangerous mistake.
🔍 Queen Anne’s lace has a hairy stem
🟣 Poison hemlock has a smooth stem with purple blotches
🌿 The flowers can look similar at first glance, which is why I never go by blooms alone
🚫 If I’m not completely sure, I leave it alone and do not touch it
This is one of those times where a close look really matters.
