Coordinated access replaces fragmented services with a streamlined, community-wide system that matches households to housing based on need.

We use centralized data to prioritize the most vulnerable, reduce duplication of efforts, and ensure faster access to housing.

Coordinated access is a cornerstone best practice and a mandatory requirement for communities receiving funding through ‘Reaching Home: Canada’s Homelessness Strategy’

Happy Wednesday, everybody! 🧺🌼

Community isn't built on grand blueprints or expensive ticket prices. It lives in the quiet, spontaneous spaces—the shared stories across a garden fence, a sudden walking group when the afternoon sun breaks through, or passing along a surplus bundle of greens to a neighbour.

To weave our local community a little closer together, we need collective imagination to do it.

What are your favourite ways to gather, connect, or support each other that cost absolutely nothing and require zero rigid planning?

We are looking for ideas that are simple, joyful, and completely accessible to everyone. Think along the lines of:
•A casual blanket-and-book swap at a local park.
•An informal evening walk loop to catch up and clear our minds.
•A porch-side tea share or a spontaneous backyard storytelling circle.
•A "skill-share" hour where someone shows a neighbor how to mend a pocket or save seeds.

Drop your ideas, big or small, in the comments below! Let’s inspire each other and see what beautiful, easy connections we can spark right here. 👇✨

Because wildlife are our neighbors too. Shows them support for community members who care about the four-legged, the feathered, and the sometimes forgotten. 🐾

www.hoperaffle.ca --> 5 days left!

Hi, Jessie the Handsome Bobcat, here. I need to let you know that there less than five days left to buy tickets to our 50/50 raffle! We are at day 15, and our jackpot hasn't yet reached half of our $100,000 dollar goal. We have 765 patients in care right now, and they all need food. They can't have mine, though! Medicine and medical supplies are also in need. So if you have a couple bucks, you could help out an animal while possibly winning even more bucks back.

Because I'm quite the big shot around here, I'm authorized to talk money. Did you know that on average we can go through almost $5000 a month in eggs? That's just egg money! I told you animals eat a lot. I eat quite a bit, too, but that's because being this incredibly handsome takes a lot of energy and concentration.

If you could share my message, I know the animals would appreciate it. That's all for now!
(Sorry, Nova Scotia residents only, by regulation)

Sentimental Sunday: Gifts from the Soil & Community 🌿

The growing season gives generously, and so do our neighbours!

This week, a wonderful local donor brought an abundance of beautiful, fresh-frozen local rhubarb into the Hub. While she wishes to remain anonymous, the warmth of her community spirit is deeply felt.

Rhubarb is a true wonder of the season—tart, vibrant, and incredibly versatile. If you are picking up a bag at the Hub, here is a quick, glanceable guide to both sweet comforts and savory global traditions:

🥄 Sweet Ideas
Maple-Rhubarb Sauce: Boil the chopped stalks down with a splash of maple syrup until smooth. It makes a brilliant, tart sauce that local families love swapping in place of applesauce.
Simple bakes: Toss the chunks straight from frozen into your favorite rustic crumbles, crisps, or pies.

🧄 Savory Ideas
Garlic & Herb Roast: Sauté your rhubarb with minced garlic in a bit of oil. It creates a beautiful, bright, savory topping that pairs perfectly with roasted vegetables or tossed into pasta.

🍲 Stews & Curries: Deeply rooted in Middle Eastern and African culinary heritage, rhubarb is traditionally used as a brilliant souring agent in savory cooking. Drop a handful into rich, earthy stews or lentil curries to cut through the weight and add incredible depth.

Our community hub thrives because of shared abundance like this. Stop by to grab a bag, try a new flavor profile, and celebrate the season's gifts! 💚
